Although the bike has some serious issues, I am looking at the cosmetic side of things for the future. I really like the gas tanks on the 750's, like the late 70's styles. Not having done this swap before...( I have taken off a gas tank however) , does anyone have any info on tank swaps.. I search but didn't come across any solid information. Other than the seat not lining up properly. how different will the bolt configuration be...if any? would the 750 tanks even work on my bike? scratcher

Besides bolt configuration you will also have to take into account: Dimensions of the tank, depth of the "backbone channel" and location/type of petcock.  Although as I've said before, modifications are only limited by a couple of things.  Amount of $$$, fabrication skill, and time.

The CBX650E, sold in Europe and Australia, has a different gas tank that should bolt right up.

If that doesn't suit your fancy, You'll at best be moving some mounting points if everything goes right, but most likely will have to do some serious fab work. Even then, the tank will in no way flow with the sidecovers or the rest of the bike.
