got this bike at the beginning of summer, running into some choke cable issues but drove it at least 300 miles (work, school, and fun related)
i do plan to bob it out, but that will have to wait for the fall.

You're the guy looking for forward controls and to bob your bike -  correct? Your Nighthawk looks to be intact and carries its side covers - most are long gone. That bike can easily be brought back to concours condition, and given its rarity and that yours is in such nice shape, you should consider a swap to the much more plentiful C model. They are cheaper and with such a horde of them out there, bobbing one isn't thinning the herd as much as losing a 1983 750SC. They were scarce to start with and their survival rate hasn't been great.
I'm sure you can swap your SC and for a nice C and a good chunk of cash to start you on your bobber way.

I've got a 1983 that's going under the blade, but it was a basket case to start off. That's what I wanted so my conscience wouldn't bug me cutting one up.
