My buddy that works down at the local Honda shop called me Friday to invite me to a poker run they were hosting the next morning. I would have gone just to go, but to sweeten the deal they offered a $300 store credit to the winner. Due to the poor weather they only had 4 entrants. As luck would have it I ended up winning on a pair of aces! I have wanted a new helmet but didn't plan on purchasing anything in the immediate future, and I sure didn't plan on spending a ton. But given the circumstances I didn't feel too bad about taking advantage of my good fortune. So next week sometime I should be receiving my new Scorpion EXO-900 Solid TransFormerHelmet in Neon Yellow. The color decision was made largely because of the wisdom bestowed on this forum. Something with the "SpeedView Sun Visor" was mandatory as was the removable liner. I've tried on a few Scorpion helmets and have been very pleased with the fit and comfort. Originally I had made the decision to go with a proper full-face instead of a modular, but after having the experience with my current modular it's simply too convenient having to deal with glasses on the regular. The rest of the features are just a bonus :). Just for fun here is the only picture I really got at one of the stops. I finally got my camera back last night, so no more phone pics from now on (hopefully).

Give you $20 for it... Congrats man, enjoy it and let me know what you think. I've been considering one for my next lid.

Great-looking helmet, and that color should really aid in visibility. I don't know why more helmet manufacturers don't offer it. Well, actually, I do know, it's those silly "I'm on a motorcycle so everything has to be black" or "I'm on a motorcycle so everything I wear has to match the paint" ideas. I got an HJC flip-up, partly because I wear glasses, and still have to take my glasses off to put it on. I don't know if it's the helmet, or the shape of my head, or the glasses themselves, but I simply cannot get that helmet on while wearing my glasses.

those silly "I'm on a motorcycle so everything has to be black" or "I'm on a motorcycle so everything I wear has to match the paint" ideas. I was struck by this yesterday when I saw two riders on the Interstate. I was behind them (in my Honda Element) for about 20 miles, so I had plenty of time to observe them. One was wearing dark jeans, a black armored jacket, and a flat black helmet. The other was wearing a loud red/white patterned armored jacket, and a multi-colored helmet. As a matter of fact it was this one: It was amazing how much more visible he was with the bright clothing! for choosing the bright yellow/green helmet. Dress to be seen, not to be a fashion statement!

I had the same problem with my cl-max until I pulled the helmet apart to put it on. I put my thumbs up at the straps and my other fingers on the outside and spread a bit to put on. Hope that makes sense and it helps.

and a flat black helmet. Ever notice in the late afternoons with a dark background, they ride around looking like they're headless? Everything is there and normal except they've had their head chopped clean off.

Give you $20 for it... Congrats man, enjoy it and let me know what you think. I've been considering one for my next lid. Thanks. I'll be sure to post up my thoughts/opinions on it when it arrives. Although I have almost no others to compare it to other than my current. I don't know if it's the helmet, or the shape of my head, or the glasses themselves, but I simply cannot get that helmet on while wearing my glasses. When purchasing each piece of my ensemble (individually) I never stopped to consider that everything was black until it had all arrived. It was deliberate without being intentional, if that makes sense. Eventually I will upgrade all of my gear as I go and will be more aware of my choice in colors :). I still have to remove my glasses to put the helmet on as well (comfortably, anyway) but all in all I still find it to be more convenient in other circumstances as well, though the glasses were a big factor. I was struck by this yesterday when I saw two riders on the Interstate. I was behind them (in my Honda Element) for about 20 miles, so I had plenty of time to observe them. As a matter of fact it was this one: It was amazing how much more visible he was with the bright clothing! for choosing the bright yellow/green helmet. Dress to be seen, not to be a fashion statement! Yes indeed! Ever notice in the late afternoons with a dark background, they ride around looking like they're headless? Everything is there and normal except they've had their head chopped clean off.

Well I went and picked it up this afternoon and had a chance to try it out. The sun visor is fantastic, I would highly recommend it - especially if like me you don't like carrying around two pairs of glasses. I forgot about the pump action so I didn't really try it out much. It's a little quieter than my HJC Symax, more comfortable and better fitting. I was a little put off by the color initially, I expected it to be a bit more yellow rather than florescent green (IMO), however after catching a few people staring (more to the point, taking notice of my presence) I couldn't care less. Thus far I'm very satisfied. Here is a couple quick snaps. This model also comes with a trim attachment to "transform" it to a 3/4. I don't foresee ever really using it, just an fyi for anybody else that might be interested in this model.

webBikeworld reviewed a different Scorpion that was this same color, and it's more visible in low-light conditions than any other color (including red, which appears to darken in dim light as our eyes go though the Purkinje shift).
Excellent choice. I can't understand why someone would buy a helmet like this and then turn it into a 3/4. At least Scorpion didn't design it to transform into a beanie.

A modern day Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow fame. Nice helmet by the way, yellow is a great color.
