What to do with near perfect weather, a day to myself and a full gas tank... head out on the road to find a treat.

On HWY 119 heading into Townsend, MA.  I was so taken by the sun filtering through the trees and creating such a glow of green color I turned around after passing by to get this shot.

While I passed many ice cream stands I pressed on as it was my intention to find a refreshing treat in Townsend.  As luck would have it my persistence paid off, welcome to Cherry Hill Ice Cream.

Heading west on 119 through the Willard Brook State Park.  Road speed isn't too fast but like much of the New England area the roads were wildly twisty and for once devoid of heavy traffic.

Pulled over at this campground to take a look around.

So relaxing to sit for a bit and listen to the babbling creek nearby.

My Nighthawk playing hide and seek.

Time to head back down the highway.

Stopped to take the liner out of my jacket and this two pooches snuck up behind me and started barking their lungs out.  I almost jumped out of my skin.

A very nice day with near perfect weather, a great area I hope to explore again soon.

I'd ride 80 miles for ice cream.  Down here, you better eat it fast though.   giggle

Bike looks right at home in it's new home.   thumb

Great pics, Fishball. Looks like a great ride. How's the east coast treating you so far?

Great pics Fish. Just getting out and riding is a treat in itself, ice cream is bonus points. Love the hide and seek picture.

Wrong Forum, but I have flown, (an airplane) over 200 miles just to get a hamburger.  Looked like a nice ride, and I bet the ice ceam was good too.

How's the east coast treating you so far?

Very good so far.  We've moved into our home so feeling a bit more settled.  The riding is great once you get out of the congested areas around Boston.

Gonna be up that way next month. Helping my daughter move from Newton to somewhere near Peabody. I get to move her motorcycle.

You will be riding right through the thick of it.  Hopefully the repairs on 93 will be finished by then otherwise it will be a long ride.  While you are on the bike you should take an hours trip north past Peabody on 128 towards Gloucester and Rockport.

what kind of helmet is that?

what flavor did you get?

The Helmet is a SparX S-07 Corsa

If you have a roundish, oblong head like mine it is very comfortable.  Best helmet I've ever owned.  If you don't like the design they have many others using the same S-07 shell.  Also they are under $200 and sometimes close-out lids will be under $100.

The ice cream was called Carmel Crunch.
