Yep, no pics again, I forgot my camera!  oops...  I need a camera just to keep in the saddlebags!  I couldn't have gotten the cagers staring at me anyway, though, and that was the best part of the ride! lol!  biker_h4h1

I had some more "decent" weather today, so I decided to get some more miles in before '09.  I rode from Averill Park, NY to Bennington, VT and back.  Stopped for some hot coffee at the Blue Benn Diner, an awesome little place in Bennington on North Street...  Anyway, one guy in Bennington at a stop light was looking at me, then back to the road, and back at me again, a puzzled look on his face the whole time.  Another guy at the gas station in Bennington almost hit me, because he didn't see me at the pumps!  He pulled around the other side, and then came over to me, and said he'd never expected to see a bike out on the road this time of year, turns out he rode for about 20 years, and I guess he's not riding at the moment, he didn't elaborate.  I told him it was a great day for a ride, and he kinda looked at me like I was a couple cards short of a full deck.  Nice guy, though.  Another guy in a minivan did the stare and loook away thing, then put his window down and asked me if it wasn't just a bit too chilly today.  I told him, absolutely not, got my long undies, and my insulated boots and gloves, I'm set!  rayof Again, he looked at me like I was a few sandwiches short of a picnic! lol! It was great just for the looks! lol!  wings
banana hot I'm sure I'll get to 14,000 miles on the NH before '09 iif I get a couple more days of "decent" weather!  YEAH! ricky

naughty I hereby solmenly promise to remember my camera for my next ride! poke

Yeah, people get disconnected from weather in their cars.  They either assume you're toasty like they are in there, or that you're as cold as they were when they ran out to the car in their shirtsleeves.

I remember one night where I was stopped at a light and heard a woman yell "Excuse me, aren't you a bit old..." and the light changed.   I felt a bit like Monty Python's constitutional peasant wondering why I looked old though a helmet till I realized she probably said 'cold.'

oh, remember aparat aparat aparat aparat aparat aparat

   Rick,

Don't you just love the cagers comments?  Like "The Waterboy" should have stated "Momma said if all you got to say is stupid then shut your piehole".
Glad you were able to ride.  A little cold never hurts.

I'm trying to get used to being outside in "inclement" weather again.  I used to work outside, in any and all weather.  From 100+ to -20, it was just another day at the office to me.  As a wise man once said, "There is no such thing as inclement weather, only inappropriate clothing".  So true.  I'm slowly getting my clothing back up to snuff, and working through what works and doesn't out on the bike. Used to be, weather didn't matter.  Hunting, too, weather didn't matter.  Haven't been out for a reall week long hunting trip in almost a decade!  I went for a quick weekend last year, first hunt in seven years.  Down to 10 at night, 40-50 during the day, but I can't wear my GI sleeping bag on the bike! lol! Rain & 40 something here in NY today, Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be not only sunny, but warm! Guess where I plan to be?
