Tuesday is my day off, and this week I found myself wanting to enjoy some mountain views and twisty roads! I've been wanting to go up both Cottonwood Canyons since I read about them on Canyon Chasers. UT-190, or Big Cottonwood Canyon is, well, bigger at 18ish miles long. It is home to Solitude and Brighton ski resorts. There is also a road that leads over the mountain to Park City, which is still very covered in snow as it is not maintained in the winter. Yes, it's the end of June, but as you will see in the pics, there is still a metric BUTT-LOAD of snow umph
Big Cottonwood features a really fun little S-Curve  ricky about 1/3 of the way up. Little Cottonwood Canyon is about 7 miles long, and is home to Alta and Snowbird ski resorts.
Here is a link to the Google map
(Is there any way to embed the map into a post?)
The trip was 85 miles round trip, and that includes a few u-turns to tackle some of the most exciting parts of the road several times  happy1

Here are a few highlight pics:

And the bottom

Lots and lots of water from melting snow

The Salt Lake Valley from the mouth of Little Cottonwood

Here is the full album for your enjoyment!

The 3rd dimension (elevation) makes a huge difference in the riding experience.

Thanks for sharing.
