How did you like the Duplicolor paint?

3 coats?  Holding well?

Did you put a couple clear coats on top?

The duplicolor high performance wheel paint is out of this world man. I put on 1 light tack coat and 3 real coats, and did not use clear on top of it, I wanted to keep the satin look. It is incredibly durable even without the clear, ive ridden through rain and gravel, left the bike out in the sun every day, and my dog has taken a leak on my rims multiple times and theres not a single chip/scratch/faded spot on them!  rayof You MUST live by the old addage "The quality of your end result is in your prep work". Prep the living hell out or the rims. Before painting I first hit the rims with engine degreaser and steel wool, then rinsed them, then rubbed them down with prep cleaner (a degreaser/wax remover) and rinsed them again, then finally wiped them down with paint thinner and let them dry before proceeding to paint.  gerg

Thanks Hawkens! Theres gotta be some trick to getting the exhaust to fit....although it does look like a nightmare project lol. Have you checked any of the tech sections here on the forum for advice?

Without knowing more specific information, I can offer a couple of suggestions:

1.  Keep the cross pipe clamp loose - to give you some wiggle room in that plane.

2.  Make sure there is only one gasket in each hole.

3.  Support the rear of the exhaust under the cross pipe  up to about 1/4" from the bolt hole, attach the header first (working your way out from the center cylinders, and then lift the exhaust up with the bolt.  Keep everything loose until you get all of the fasterners started.

threadjacked I bought them used from a motorcycle recycler and the thing about them is they do not want to go into engine and when they do 3 out of 4 do the 4th is a lost cause and the center/bottom bolts are an inch off/forward of the holes and the rear mufflers are about an inch or two too low.  FUBAR is what we used to call it in my Navy days but my dad says they are just a little sprung and it should be easy to fix, yes easy for a Master Tool and Diemaker like him but for me not so much (he says he will help me out when I have time banghead). Now back to complimenting the fresh NH owner who if he is a really nice guy will trade me exhaust pipes muhaha.

Hey Floridamtbiker, you should start your own thread so we can help you there.

welcome  Nice job on the bike!  It's a lot easier to buy a good looking bike than it is to restore one.
