I didn't go far but I did get a few aparat other than what I captured for the side game.  Thought I'd share.

The shoe tree.  I don't know any local stories about this at all, a friend of mine stumbled across it one day.  I couldn't remember what road it was on but I knew the vicinity.

I ended up on the old highway between Nyssa, OR and Vale, OR.  Happened across this historic Oregon Trail site and stopped.  Didn't get very many, nor any real quality photo's since I wanted to press on - but I will make a special trip up sometime now that I'm aware of it to go hike around.  And I didn't even died of dysentery...

Keeney Pass

And one last picture for good measure.

Thanks for the pictures. I have never seen pics of Oregon before. It really is beautiful. My sister lives in Medford, I guess I need to go up there and find a cycle rental place.  happy1

looks pretty wide open, traffic free - the blue sky above that meadowland is peaceful.  Thanks for sharing.

Wow, is that the "beat-down" path of the OR Trail?

Thanks for sharing!

Medford is on the other side of the state from where I'm at, but yes there is some beautiful country up here.  I'll be doing this a great deal more now that the weather is cooperating regularly and I have my camera back :).  Hopefully some of the photographers on this site can guide me through taking some better quality photo's as time goes on!

The side of the state I live on is mostly farm country, so pretty wide open.  Finding a good twisty road though, well...

The picture right under the map where the indentation is, is indeed part of the original trail.  The picture underneath it is a path for foot traffic.  I'll be going back one of these days to do a bit more adventuring/picture taking now that I know it's there.

Looks very peaceful.

It's a rural community, lots of nothing around here.  Now that I've finally joined the MC ranks I have a new found appreciation for the desolate atmosphere smiler.
