I don't have a solution to your problem but I like the idea of using video. Especially to help explain problems like this.     thumb

It might be helpful if you could give a brief list of the things you're looking to repair.  I thought the video was helpful, but there was a lot that was covered and a list would be a nice quick reference for us.

Right off the bat, I can tell you that taking off the rear wheel is a cinch.  Follow the manual, it's pretty much just like you said, remove / loosen the couple of bolts, pull out the axel, there you have it.  Piece of cake.

Did you say that there was an inline fuel filter?  There was a recent thread where someone had running problems when the tank got to below half full.  Turned out removing an inline filter did the trick.  I often hear of problems with fuel supply when in-line filters are put on.  But some people have no problems with them.

Because there are still things I'm learning about engines, does removing the baffles affect airflow?  If it does, could that affect the running condition of the bike if it's not jetted properly?

Great looking bike by the way!

Good luck with the bike, it's a beaut!

I don't know for sure, but that dieing issue might be your carbs starved for fuel which could be a clogged up fuel line which might be related to rust in your gas tank. So I'd start at your gas tank and work your way to the carbs.
