When you start using your left foot to shift gears...in your cage.

When having a bug fly down your throat or up your nose no longer grosses you out (I'm not quite there yet).

When you're more concerned about the weather forecast than the news or sports.

When you admonish your child by telling him to "quit being such a squid."

When you wear your grips through to the bar/throttle sleeve.  Not there yet, but it's mighty close.

When you go through more than 2 sets of tires a year.

When you can smell your own gear...at 65mph.

And my personal favorite...

When you have to put a battery tender on your car because you drive it so rarely.  thumb

Similar to farmer's tan, one can get a full-face helmet tan with raccoon eye from the visor and a tanned neck that stops at the chinstrap.

I've worn a heated grip down to the wire, but that was the fault of rivet-palmed gloves.  I'm on my third set of grips for the 700, and the last ones did indeed wear through to the throttle tube.

You know longer wince at tire prices.

...when 45mph on an unimproved unmaintained dirt road on a street bike with street tires is a total non-event.

...when you have your non enclosed trailer set up as a work shop for maintenance.

When you realize that even though you talk a big game about wanting other bikes you don't really want another bike, just other bikes so you have more options. You know in your heart you would come back to your Honda over an over though...if you disagree get off the computer and go ride some more.*

*This doesn't apply for those who just want a larger displacement Honda.  Hap1

When you start driving your cage as though it's a motorcycle (i.e., taking a proper line on curves)...

When you sell the dam cage because you never drive it. Three years ago now and no regrets....

When you have the torque specs for your fork tube clamps and front and rear axles memorized....

When there's a calendar in the kitchen with birthdays and anniversaries on it, and a separate calendar by the computer with nothing but riding trips on it....

+1 lol. I do that almost every day when I pick my daughter up from daycare. I ride to work but pick the trucknup at home to get her. I have to fight the urge to wave.

when you can remember every last maintenance date off the top of your head, but the b-day for SOQS manages to slip your mind...  shog...

cheers,

..when you've run out of memory locations in your head to store information and overwritten your entire high school education with useful mechanical knowledge and skills so you don't have to depend on high school dropouts to fix your stuff.
