These videos are pretty old now, but still enjoyable (for me at least). This is a section of the Kern River right outside of Bakersfield. A very enjoyable ride.

Sorry about the shakiness of the camera!

Looks like the 250 is pretty nimble -and plenty quick enough too.  I'd like to try one some day.

I was doing around 55-65 most of the time there. I was actually pretty proud of myself one day for keeping up with a CBR600 going through the canyon.

thumb That's a nice area to ride in..  I have been up there several times (starting in Lancaster).  SOQS and I have even stayed overnight in Kernville a couple of times after riding up the Caliente-Bodfish road ..

That takes me back. I wish I was still living around there.

Caliente-Bodfish road is where I wrecked my bike. There's the one turn that says 10 MPH and I didn't take it seriously because it looked like a pretty wide turn.

Sorry to hear that!  Hope you came out OK!  The road is scenic but the turns are tight and, as you found out, do require vigilance...  Not to mention the occasional steer on the road.   yikes

I have to check the video ride reports more often, there is some good stuff here.  Some great twists and turns on those roads, 250's are a hoot to ride.  I didn't think the shakiness ruined the video, kind of enhanced the visceral sensation of actual riding.
