My new bike naughty

It's got a little dust on if from sitting in a heated shop for the last 5 years. It should clean up very easily.

I'm pumped  ricky

Enjoy:

Looks pretty good thumb
The missing fairing decals really don't detract from the look at all, but those mismatched mirrors would drive me nuts.
Take good care of the side covers and blinker stalks.

The strap on the seat is interesting, and presumably an addition.
I hope the tires are new, or will be. DirtDOG

I wish you hadn't pointed out the mirror, I actually never noticed, I've been to busy checking out the hot body happy1

It does need new tires. Have any suggestions?

Your choices are pretty limited, but when I had a 700s I ran the Maxxis Classic on the rear, and the Metzler on the front.  Both were really inexpensive, afforded good all around traction, and provided decent service.

Nice looking bike - it should clean up really well.  How many miles on her?  That s100 engine detailer is a really nice product after you clean the motor up.

Sorry, but aesthetically I am quite fond of the sleek minimalism of the stock mirrors, like your right one.  I pretty much intend on carrying them over when mine dies.
Also, I'll take this opportunity to announce that at 25 posts, you can now access the classified section and shop there:

As for tires, I've only used the Metzeler Lasertec.  It works fine for me, lasts through up to two oil changes.

Looks like and '85 with '84 side covers. I use Pirelli Sport Demon tires. http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php and http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/ both carry several different tires in our size. BTW  welcome

 welcome

We have a Tire Review Thread were you can read a few reviews. I run Dunlop GT501's on my 650 because of the article I posted in that thread.

Looks like a great bike that will clean up beautifully with some TLC!

 welcome See-Three

That looks like an 84 model (you have 83 listed below your avatar on the left). This bike was sold from 84-86 in the US and 84-85 in Canada.
Also, is it a 750 or a 700?
Where are you located?

Bike looks good  thumb

Hey Gammer I guess I need to update my bike status. I also own a 83 nighthawk cb750. The S i just bought is a 85 700. Maybe the side covers are from a 84?

Oops sorry!

Yep, the side covers have the 84 decal. Either way...nice bike!
How does it compare to the 83 750?

Thanks guys!

Last night I dissembled the carbs and soaked them in pine sol over night. The carbs are currently clean and back together but not installed on the bike. Next step is to give her a good shinning, change the oil, air filter and get new tires.

I'd strongly urge a leak check of the carbs before puting them back on the bike....  I got lots of practice with installing/removing my carbs due to some fuel leaks
