My 92 CB750 and my 82 Vision 550 Pictures are a little dark, I'll try to get that fixed up once I have them together in the daylight. With the cold going on here, the halogen lights in the garage don't work as well as they could. Both are restore projects, the NH needing a bit more work than the Vision. Still, both run beautifully.

Your black NH looks vaguely familiar with the torn seat.....is it the same one that was (or still is) listed for sale in the Philly Craigslist?

Perhaps still is, but definately was. I am the proud new owner! something I should know about this bike? I'm working on a new seat for it, among other things. I still can't get the damned thing off!

Can you take a closeup pic of the taillight? Is this the same bike that has the seat release cable 'hanging down'? See if you can take a pic of that too. I'll look at mine to see if there are any ideas.

Already got one :D I pulled the little cable out with no luck. Maybe I'm trying to lift the seat wrong. Does it flip back, or to the side?

Ok, see if you can get another person to help out here.
When I turn the key, I have to hold the key while pulling the seat towards the BACK of the bike. In your case, you will have to hold the cable's neck with a pair of pliers while pulling the cable with another pair.
If you've already tried all this.....there is a chance the locking mechanism is frozen in place.....

The spring load in it is broken. I pulled it, and it didn't snap shut. That picture was before I pulled it. With it pulled out I was unable to open the seat, however I was pulling up, thinking it swung to the side. I will give it a shot at pulling back. Thanks!

Jay: If you still haven't gotten the seat off, I took mine off and took a few pics. Here is what the key release mechanism looks like from the inside: Here is the latching mechanism. The slot to the left of the bolt is what holds the seat down. The cable going to the latching mechanism is on the left side right near the gap between the seat and plastics. By pushing DOWN on this lever, the seat will come off. I don't know if you can stick something in there to push it down while the seat is on, though. Hope this helps....

Yes, thank you. I haven't gotten around to tinkering iwth it more, due to other projects, and it's colder than hell, it's not #1 priority right now. It's supposed to hit 40 today, so maybe i'll pull it out and start tinkering. I need to replace a broken throttle cable as well.
