so i cleaned my carbs using the pine sol method (man that stuff works great). I reinstalled the carbs and set the pilot screws to 2 1/2 turns ( i had to buy a new set of pilot screws because previous owner was missing gaskets washers and even had a completely different screw for one of them, anyway. the problem that i'm facing, is i'm hearing a ticking sound from cylinder 4 or the cylinder on the far right hand side of the block. sounds to me that it's the spark plug making the sound, because it isn't to loud and it doesn't sound metallic, one other problem that i'm having that maybe related to this is that when i give the bike throttle up until 2,000 rpms it's bubbly/bogged down, any help would be awesome, thanks.

Bad wire or otherwise secondary ignition arcing, causing a misfire under load, maybe?

I imagine you'd hear both the crack of the spark and experience a motor running on 25% less than it should be...

But, I'm a noob with an imagination, so who knows.  ;)

The ticking sound *might* be one of these two things:

1.  A hydraulic valve adjuster needs bleeding/refilling, or at worst case, replacement (Ebay is your friend)

2.  It might be an exhaust gasket leak; they can "tick" like that.  Have a look.

Is it related to temperature, as in it's fine when cool but comes on when hot. If this is the case, i'll inquire about oil & filter.

Low speed jet on one of the carbs could be clogged. Simple test, at startup without reving it up, are all 4 pipes heating up? I presently have a clogged jet that i'm hoping will work itself out. Once i hit the throttle above 2k it kicks on as fuel will be fed though the main jet - at least that's my theory.
