Looks like a blast so far.  I remember the days when I could take a month off to ride (usually between jobs).  I'm leaving for a 10-day ride up the Rockies in about 10 days.  Can't wait to get to the mountains.

For 100+ degree desert crossings, I highly recommend completely soaking your shirt (long sleeve works best).  Take some water along to resoak every 30-40 min.  I do it all summer here in AZ and it works great.  The wind will evaporate the water and drop your temp about 20 degrees.

Hey, you're up in Western MT.   My favorite motorcycle destination.    If you get a chance, ride U.S. Hwy 12 from Lolo, MT west across Idaho.   For my money, it's one of the best rides around.  It runs in the bottom of a canyon for about 125 miles, twisting and turning all the way.    Since it's bordered mostly by national forest and wilderness areas, there's very little local traffic.   You won't regret it.

Before I die (and hopefully a lot sooner), I am going to take 4-6 weeks off and ride the entire Great Northwest.

My friends, you can take that to the bank.

I passed on the Lolo Pass road, but have seen quite a few that looked just like your photo! Beautiful country here.

I woke up and decided I had had enough and wanted to go home.
9 hours and 430 miles later in 102 degree heat,I got home at 530PM
GPS showed a total of 5318 miles, odometer showed 88 more than that, but I had forgot to reset the GPS a few times and when I remembered I lost a few miles.
When it cools off,I'll be headed back to Arkansas for another ride.

What happened on this last part? Were you heading home anyway? Sounds like you ran out of enthusiasm or something? Looks like you had a great ride.
