I want to know if you got caught in the rain with gmax or other type of helmets.
DID water come in the visor? Did water come in the vents? Are you happy with helmet? Any down sides of it.
When you respond please state the model of the helmet.

No No Yes Very Ventilation could be better, kinda noisy at freeway speeds Scorpion EXO-400 Pick up a Vee Wipe Squeegee from Aerostitch and velcro it somewhere on the bike or keep it with your raingear. Great thing to have in a downpour if your gloves don't have a built in squeegee.

I don't usually stop for rain, but I could not see and the water on the hwy was about 4" deep so I pulled over under a gas station cover. My head, however, was completely dry.

Seeing skrammer comment, made me think about getting caught in the rain today. My head got wet getting to the bike, but was dry by the time I got home even though it rained the whole way.

The main reason for this post, Is I need to buy a better helmet at a minimum price. I am a college student. I have a Zox helmet that let the rain in, fogs up, and very hot in Florida, little ventation. The saleswoman convinced my wife to buy matching helmets instead of buying one meduim price helmet. http://www.zoxhelmets.com/86-61561_en.htmlI have seen the Gmax helmets with 10 vents, and a LED light on the back. I am doing an informal survey of helmets, so I can decide on the one I want to buy in the future. I had a Fulmer helmet 20 years ago. That the visor seal itself in to the helmet. Love that helmet. Please keep on posting, you experiences with your currently or past helmets. Thank you.

If you are looking for a good helmet at a great price I would check out the Bell Vortex which is on sale at lots of web stores. Webbike World likes this helmet and has others to check out too.

I got my son and myself 2 GMAX GM54S, he got a black and I got mine white, although I don't have any experience with other brands/models I am very happy so far, mine came with a problem on the shade, but it's being replaced by www.jazzmotorsports.com. I will post some pictures on my post during the week with sort of a review on it! http://nighthawk-forums.com/index.php/topic,11083.new.html#new

I bought the GMAX GM54s in the flat black....has been an awesome helmet. Very comfortable so far in temps from 36 to 95....vents a big help...have shut the front vents when the rain really comes down, but have not had a problem with any rain getting in. The LED's on the back are plenty bright after dark when you really need them. Between this helmet, armored jacket and gloves, and my Icon Field Armor boots, I feel pretty well protected.

I am extremely tight with my money, I don't like spending it unless absolutely necessary. That being said, I am going to recommend my favorite place again. Iron Pony. I got a Gmax helmet to my door for $35 bucks. They have crazy sales on helmets that are "out of style" what ever in the hell that means!

I have the GMAX 68. It's my third helmet and I really enjoy riding in it. It has plenty of vents and they all close well enough not to let the rain in. It also has a light on the back you can turn on for low light conditions.

As I said before, my son and I have a GMax GM54S, he got the black and I got the white one, I am using a lot more then him and I am very happy with the choice we made. I got into a pretty strong storm last week and I got soaked, but the helmet held it pretty well!
Under very strong rain/wind it didn't leak even with the vents open, however I observed a couple of drops running on the side of the visor but inside, it didn't get wet inside and it only got foggy when i had to stop for a light or something (which i believe is normal), otherwise it did what it was supposed to do.
The light on the back can (and I did for both my son and I) be replaced for one that connects through wireless to your break light and it does work. Under the rain or when light is not bright it is good to know I have another way to grab attention from the cages behind me. Of course don't expect the two break lights on the back of the helmet to be bright enough to be used during the day.
I hope it helps!
