Cortech GX 2 Air 2X is tight, 3X is hard to find.  I have big shoulders from being a power lifter and body builder in the 90's.  Now I have a little extra tire.

I wife wants to buy me a Protective Jacket but only for $150.  My 20 year leather is wearing out, it has holes in it and it is thin leather, dress leather.
After we went to Cycle Gear store (soon to be closed).  She realized I do not have true protective gear.  She told me that I need it because I ride 880 miles per week to work and college.

Here I is want and need for protective jacket.

Price: $150 or less or near that price.
Size: 3x maybe bigger for a sweat shirt.
Temperature range: 28 F to 100 F   Florida riding.
Rain protection:  yes.
Color: at least 25% yellow or more and black to match my bike black and gold (yellow).

Options: matching pants if possible later.   Matching gloves if possible.

 Thank you for your postings

I would recommend the Kilimanjaro jacket by First Gear.  It is waterproof, armored and really well built.  Some of the web stores have these on clearance now for around $189.00 which is a little more than your limit but well worth it if you can stretch your budget.  I have the Hi Viz version and it does work as confirmed by cage reactions on my daily commute.

I checked www.motorcyclegear.com closeout section and found this:
http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/closeouts/textile_jackets_and_pants/speed_and_strength/coast_is_clear_st_textile_motorcycle_jacket.html (they're sold out on the XXXL, but maybe you can find a similar deal with some googling)

And here's a mesh jacket in yellow (I don't think it's hi-viz):

Good luck!

Again, at $179.99 a bit above the price range, but shipping is free. I've got a pair of Olympia Airglide riding pants, and I think they're an excellent value. Good fit, nice features, good quality.

I know a touring-style jacket may seem a little long (and hot) for Florida, but the sport-type jackets often seem to be cut to fit guys with gorilla shoulders and fencepost waists.

Bump.

What did you end up doing? I'm looking for a similar jacket, so I'm curious to find out what you got and what you think of it.

I have a speed and strength jacket that is very good for our hotter than hell weather while still offering some peace of mind. Mine is an older "moment of truth model" black and silver mesh/text combo and comes with a rather effective removable rain liner. MotorcylceGear.com has this one in yellow http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/closeouts/textile_jackets_and_pants/speed_and_strength/coast_is_clear_st_textile_motorcycle_jacket.html. I can certainly recommend their products.

Anzac also mentioned a good one in the First Gear Kilimanjaro.

Here's another Speed and Strength one that is right at your price range: http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/closeouts/textile_jackets_and_pants/speed_and_strength/coast_is_clear_st_textile_motorcycle_jacket.html.

You could also just buy a black or whatever jacket you find that fits comfortably and go with a high vis vest like these http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/underwear_visibility_and_misc_/visibility_vests

Or WalMart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc... have cheap one size fits all high vis vests for use on construction sites that are dirt cheap yet effective.

Hope some of that was helpful.

I couldn't pass on the kjaro jacket. I really like it and its water proof. The liner can be worn as a regular jacket. If you can't go for this jacket get a vest and a mesh jacket.

I too ordered the kjaro jacket.  It's a little too warm when the temps get in the 90's, but the vents do work pretty well.  Still haven't gotten to try it out in the rain.  I'll use my mesh jacket most the time for short trips on hot days, and keep the Kjaro for longer trips, bad weather, and cold days.  I really do love the jacket.  The quality is excellent.  It feels much better built than my Cortech mesh jacket.
