I haven't seen one of these before. Has anyone ever tried one?

Never heard of such a thing before (Georgia, imagine that) but it seems like a good concept. I know that snowmobile helmets are not intended to take the same kind of post crash abuse as motorcycle helmets though (Different testing standards). If you had some basic electrical know how I'm sure you could accomplish this with any helmet, as it looks like the visor just has two strips on it that get warm. Heck why stop there, you might as well run that stuff through the whole helmet and keep you noggin warm while you ride.  think2

That is a snowmobile helmet/visor.

I'm pretty skeptical about the "looks pretty universal" statement.

I know of at least one manufacturer using the same shells for both motorcycle and snowmobile helmets, and a heated visor would probably fit on either version, but I don't know if that is true across the industry.

I'm pretty skeptical about the "looks pretty universal" statement.

In addition to shell size, the correct helmet brand is just as important.
That visor certainly won't connect to a Shoei or my old KBC helmet. The attach point at the hinge is completely wrong.

I have a used helmet I purchased off of CL to use as a back-up or passenger helmet. I got it on the cheap and got it home. Then I looked a little more closely at it. Along the bottom of the visor it says, "For Snowmobile Use Only". Doh!

In comparing it to my MC helmet, the visor is much thinner and more pliable. I'm waiting until the snow starts flying and then will hopefully sell it for what I bought it for.

I wonder if something similar could be the case with this product as well.

Does the helmet have a DOT or Snell sticker on it?
