Well I almost pulled a pants on the ground move today turning left from a stop sign in the rain.  I wasn't giving her much throttle, but I must have hit an oily patch or something because my rear tire broke loose and I had to give her some opposite lock to keep her upright.  Thankfully I was hardly leaned into the turn so nothing bad came of it other than a lesson to take it even easier in the rain. shog  Oh, and the camera did happen to be rolling

Nice save. Did you observe the "10 minute rule"? Oh and how did the rain gear work?

Did you observe the "10 minute rule"?

It had been raining for several hours.  But I think the water doesn't drain off well in that spot.

Yesterday, I was on my way home after a hard rain. There is a brand new patch of asphalt on my way home that had never been rained on (it hadn't rained for several weeks). I was extremely cautious and saw white oily crap all over the road.  yikes

Felt my rear tire wanting to run away from me a few times today, once enough to make my heart pound for a bit.  I recently changed out my dry-rotting, cracking, year 2000 front tire; I don't expect the rear to be much newer (no sidewall cracking last time I looked), but I'm not going out in the rain to take a look at it.

What I should do is get off my haunches and change to tire already (I have a new one sitting under my bed) and while I'm at it, lube those splines with that moly I bought a while back.
