....I had a 1974 Mustang II that I restored and sold to help fund my other passion...which is Honda Motorcycles,
What a shame....I had to sell my 1968 Barracuda Fastback to fund my first baby 18 years ago, can't afford one now, so I'll stick with my second hobby, motorcycles.

..so my question now is for Green427.....have you ever done this screen clean thing before and if so...how hard is it to do and are there any tips/trix you can share with me concerning getting this chore done without creating more problems for myself!
No, haven't done that yet, since my Rebel doesn't have that many miles on it.
If I remember correctly, that strainer should be cleaned every 15K miles or so. From what I've read, the Clymer's manual gives you good instructions on how to get to it. If you go to this Rebel forum
www.rebel250.com and search 'oil screen', almost all owners say their screens had very little or no debris. Some folks said that they need to remove one exhaust pipe, others did not. You don't need a Rebel to join, but there are a few folks that have rebuilt 250's and offer a lot of advice.
One thing I definitely would do is get a magnetic drain plug, since our engines do not have a regular oil filter....although many folks have put upwards of 100K miles on 250's with nothing but frequent oil changes.
