I'm pretty excited about it. This is my first bike ever. I took the Team Oregon BRT two months earlier then started cruising the local craigslist doing as much research on possible candidates. Until a week ago about when I stumbled upon the winner. A black and red 1986 Honda Nighthawk cb700sc with 21k on the clock. I love the color combo and the riding postion is better than I could have asked for. More power than I'll ever need in a bullet proof maintenance free (aside from the obvious of course) package.

Only Picture I've taken thus far.  shog

I rode it for 150 miles the weekend I got it, twas glorious. I have most definitely got the bug. Before putting some serious miles on her the fork seals are being replaced, oil changed, and new spark plugs. I ordered the Origonal MOM and the complete shop manual for it so I should be ready fro whatever comes my way. New rubber comes next spring.

Anyways, just thought I'd introduce myself and mah bike.  wave

Before I die, I will get an '86 700S. Both ROB and RWB are gorgeous, and yours looks to be a fine example.

How many miles, and if you don't mind, how much?

21,300 miles and I paid $1,800 along with gloves, jacket, helmet, and softbag. The jacket was about three sizes to big though.   Hap1

I like it! Shall we make that the official term for these?  naughty  It is really nice to a good ROB, they seem to be extremely rare.   welcome to the NHF and ride safe!

Beautiful bike. Please don't ever sell it. My first bike was an '84 Nighthawk S. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven't regretted selling it. I love my '93 NH, but would love to have my '84 back.

Sweet ride!  I'm actually making my 84/85 look like yours!

I just painted my frame, engine, covers... I copied the paint of the 86 because I think it's the best looking 'S' out there!

I still need to paint the rims and the orange stripe.
