I know its the same story... But Its ebay or a junkyard. .... I just had to replace mine I got one for $22.00 off ebay.. Just get creative in your EBAY search. Use Honda 650... then use cb650sc..then try other combinations. You would be surprised to find a deal that was poorly titled. I did find one thats an aftermarket but they were over $200 bucks. Needless to say I bought off EBAY.

Hopefully its just the rectifier. I had to do both the rectifier and the stator. The stator is even tougher to locate and more expensive. Good Luck.

Replaced the r/r with one off of ebay. Put it on, started the bike and got the rpm up around 5K and saw the battery voltage going up. I rode up the street and back and when I came to a stop the bike died. It would stay running if I kept the rpm's up. Im going to get the battery tested, but in the meantime I measured the ohms of my plug wires and found two that are bad. Any suggestions on where to get plug wires?

Got my plug wires from eBay from these guys - http://stores.ebay.com/recreationalperformanceproducts I was happy with the quality of them. Checking with a dealer might be worthwhile if you can't find a rectifier. It will surely be expensive but they might have a source if you're willing to pay. My dealer ordered a refurbished unit from a company they order older bike parts from.

Do the caps on the coil end of the wires just come off the old wires and slip onto the new wires?

Here's a link somebody else posted in another thread that would probably be worth checking. http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/
