Well - my Jafrum pants that I have been raving about are not available in my size. Alas, this last crash finished my old ones (they were just about finished anyway). So, I picked up these this afternoon. http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=BLT_BLM6-BZ-028_GThey appear to be well made, and the reviews were pretty good. Of course, the legs are a tad short, but when you have legs as long as mine, c'est la vie. Anybody else have these pants, and if so, what do you think? |

Glad to hear you're replacing gear. That signals a return to riding for you! Give us a review on the pants when you stry again. I've been looking at the same pants. I have the bilt pants with zip out panels in the thigh. I have no complaints about them but want full mesh for the  days. |

I don't understand these companies. They make mesh gear for hot weather, then produce it in one color - black - which, despite being mesh, absorbs a significant amount of heat. I've had both black and light-colored mesh gear, and the light-colored stuff is definitely cooler than the black stuff.  Anyway, pants, congrats on the purchase. I'd like to hear your opinion when you've ridden with them for a while. I've looked online at the BILT products and they seem to have all the features at a reasonable price. Did you take them up on the free BILT gloves? |

I think riding pants are made in black to hide the road dirt better. Still, they are warmer than lighter colors. I put in over 400 miles in them yesterday. Very comfortable, breath well. The inseam is a little short as expected, but with my long legs, I'll just have to put up with it. The knee pads don't stay put very well. In the "Up/Down" direction, they are good, but they move toward the inside of my knee a little when I'm sitting on the bike. For protection purposes, that is not good. I'll have to ask my daughter to help with that - maybe some velcro or something. Did you take them up on the free BILT gloves? Hmmm - they did not offer me that in the store. I'll have to inquire about it. |

If I'm not mistaken, Cycle Gear honors their online deals in store as well. They're not great gloves, but free is free, right?

Not only that, but I think many of us want to be as visible as possible on the road and 90% of the gear out there is black. I had a hell of a time trying to find a red backpack, it appears there are NO motorcycle specific ones that come in anything but black. Preach-on man...  |

Pants, when HOKS got some new riding pants, they were too short.
I took very similar material and sewed an extension on each leg. So they zip down, then the extension just velcros on.
I assume your daughter could install a similar method, even with snaps or something. You could even use material from your old pants.
