Hi!, my names Evan and I've been into old bikes for a while, my other bike (soon to be sold) is a 1980 Suzuki GS450 that I cafe'd out. I Just recently picked up this 1984 CB650sc and consequently found this forum
She rode great for the week after I bought her then I started having electrical problems and an oil leak. Oil started leaking out a little bit by the bottom of the oil filter cover so I decided to change the oil (used 15W-40 Rotella T), oil filter and put in a new o-ring on the cover... Now the leak is worse then ever, it seems like its still coming from around the bottom of the oil filter cover. I also have been experiencing problems with the tachometer, turn signals, and rear taillight not working and I narrowed it down to the fuse box which I found out after taking it apart, the metal bars that are inside were corroded and not making good contact. I also recently bought a trickle charger since the bike doesnt like to recharge itself when I make short trips commuting back and forth between classes. Another problem just popped up today, the starter will not turn over, the battery is fully charged and when I try to crank her all I hear is a ton of clicking from the solenoid. I went over everything with a multimeter and it all checks out. This bike currently has me puzzled and I have to ask what I did to deserve this as It was perfect for the previous owner and for the first week I had it
. I want to get her back to running perfect ASAP, so any advice is greatly appreciated!
