Just bought my first Nighthawk and love having power again!  My other bike is a '75 Kawasaki that needs to go now.

Laminar, mine is a KZ400.  If I'm not mistaken those Kawi triples are scary fast!!  Thanks all for the warm welcome, I did almost 100 miles today, I sure do like how the Nighthawk did in the twisties.

welcome to the forum!  Bike looks very familiar (I've got one just like it).  So, you have the rack and want to mount it?  Has it been mounted in the past?

I tackled it, almost killed me to cut into my "new" bike!  Everything went well, I now have to find longer chrome shock mount bolts.  My stock 2" aren't long enough, oh yeah, Menards has chrome spacers but not 10mm bolts.

Here you go:
http://www.boltdepot.com/Metric_hex_bolts_Chrome_plated_class_8.8_steel_10mm_x_1.5mm.aspx

I've used BoltDepot.com before for metric chrome and stainless hardware, no issues with them.

welcome  That's a sharp looking 750.  Quiet a jump in power ( and smoothness) from a KZ400!  My first bike was a '76 KZ400 and I still remember it fondly.

It's a good thing you said "had". Because if you still owned this bike, I'd be forced to hate you out of jealousy.

Wow, Laminar, nice job on the Kawi!  So I got the luggage rack on, what a PITA!  I have had NO LUCK finding chrome 10mm x 1.25 bolts ANYWHERE!! very mad  I managed to find zinc plated bolts at my local ACE.  Anyway its on and ready for my wife to hop on the back.   biker_h4h1
