First bike was a Frankenbike CB500 I pulled out of a barn in corn country Indiana.  $500 and she ran.  I ended up turning it into this.

Was a fun way to learn my way around the bike and a great little around town bar-hopper.

There were a total of three 500's involved in this.  Best stock parts went into a decent daily rider that I sold to buy parts for this thing.  The carcass was sold along with the cafe bike when I found my cherry...

I loved the 400F so I scored this when it popped on on my local Craigslist.

Chopper forks?  Seriously?  HA!

I briefly tried on a three cylinder Suzuki two stroke.

Too much bike for me at the time.

This was my special bike, Cherry.  I still wish I hadn't sold it and I see it daily (which kills me):

1973 CB500Four one owner with 8K on the clock. al the tools manuals, warranty books EVERYTHING.  Even oil change receipts from the 70's...

She was a peach of a bike.

A few of that 400 mixed in after I sorted the front end out...

And some (with Leroy Brown) after I added a sweet sweet Giuliari seat!

The wife's CA160 Baby Dream.

One near miss and she's a back of the bike girl now...

There was another stock 400F, a pair of 125's (CB & CL), another two stroke Suzuki Titan 500, and a pair of Yamaha Triples. Plus I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

I've been lucky to have had a chance to ride all these bikes and I have almost always gotten every penny back out of them when I sold them.

My motorcycle habit has actually been a pretty inexpensive hobby.

My current Nighthawk (Jolene) is taking me on my first road trip tomorrow.  150 miles out to Red River Gorge in Slade KY.  I am super excited and the weather is gonna be PERFECT!

Wow, what a collection.  You could open a CB museum if you still had them all thumb  Thanks for sharing.

Don't worry.  I only ratted out the snotters and saved any good stock items. I know enough to know I'm no bike builder, but it was a good way to learn my way around a new hobby.

With the Cherry 500, I ordered that seat and swapped out the pipes for NOS Jardine 4-1 because I was riding it everyday and didn't want to tear the seat or beat up the pipes.
