Put a deposit on my nostagia bike. I go to Maryland Saturday to pick it up. I feel like a kid at Christmas. Most undignified

Supposedly its in running condition, low miles, but who knows. The major item is that it had a title and the price was right. On Ebay these things are outrageous.

Took the loose change to the bank today to help pay for the SL. Found $252. Also found some threads on ADV. A guy got one of these that a honda mechanic had set up for flat tracking and used it in a trials competition and raced in the Baja 1000. Haven't finished the thread yet, but he finished the race when about 40% of the bikes DNF's. His thread has really got me stoked.

Finally got the SL home, 13 hrs in the car today. Can't say how excited I am about this bike. However, my wife is watching Dolores Claiborne on TV and kept listening to Goodbye Earl in the car today.

The SL needs a lot of elbow grease and some technical work. Forks leak, as do the carbs. Didn't see any rust in the tank, but it looked like it had been creamed. I need new cables all around and will probably change levers and mounts. Any of you dirt riders know some sources let me know. I also want to  change the rear shocks first thing. I will also need to check out the valves, points, condensor etc. It did start right up today and seemed to run ok. A little noisy on the to end. The PO said he hadn't ridden it in two years. He said he rode it to work when he was employed at a yamaha shop.

The bike had both side covers, no dings in tank. Exhausts weren't too bad. One has been brazed on a seam, but was not rusted out at the usual spots. Tires are in fairly good shape, didn't check the date yet.
Still a good buy after what I've seen on ebay.

I'm now the proud owner of the three best looking motorcycles that Honda ever made. Check the stable pics.

Be interesting to see how Pita Hawk responds to the clutch rebuild. Maybe the presence of her great uncle will make a difference

It was the bike I rode in high school. Bought one new for about $750.  Sold my Volkswagon for $150 to help pay for it. I had a lot of fun on that motorcycle. Let it go after I got married. Wasn't really prepared to take care of it. Big mistake.

There are a lot of them on this forum. Get that unknown (650?) of yours going and join us for a rally. Us old codgers won't hold you back. We love the Kickstand Motorcycle Campground and those roads around Stecoah.

with some road bike tires the sl350 makes better street bikes than the cb or cl 350's, much better frame

They are also being converted to road racing. B/c of the frame.
