I've been silently watching this forum for some time now, and now that I bought a '98 VFR800 Interceptor, I figured I'd better post some pics of my Nighthawk before I sell it. It's really been a great bike for the three years I've owned it, and I've learned a ton working on it. I'm a little bummed to move on now that I have it all sorted, and I know I'll miss it.

Here's a few pics:

And with my new to me VFR:

For anyone that's interested in the Minneapolis area, here's a link to the Craigslist ad: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/mcy/2633171052.html

I also have a NOS right hand exhaust that I never got around to installing. It would be awesome if it ended up with someone from NHF, so if anyone's interested, PM me.

So the previous owner kinda wanted a Harley? scratcher
I do like the paint scheme nonetheless.  Looks like a quality job.
That little clock is really inobtrusive on the fuse cover.

Yeah, the PO did a decent job; it was what attracted me to the bike. It looks like he rushed the sidecovers, though, as there are a few flaws there. Not very noticeable unless you look up close.

That's just a cheapo clock velcro'd on there...tends to turn black in direct sunlight, but does the job.

2 nice looking bikes. The nighthawk needs a Philadelphia Flyers logo on the side of the tank.  poke
Good luck with the VFR

I like the stripe on the front fender and have been thinking about adding a red one to the fender on my 700.  Are you going to use the VFR different than you used the nighthawk?  The VFR looks about twice as large as the nighthawk.

I don't anticipate using the VFR much differently. Commuting, day trips, and just general blasting around back roads. I know it looks bigger, but it has a claimed wet weight of 500 lbs with 5.5 gal of fuel, compared to the NH's 475 lb. Surprisingly, the VFR feels lighter to me, even with all that fuel.

Very imformative advertisement on your NH - very honest read.  I think your asking price is fair, and you will likely get a reasonable offer.

Good luck - hope you hang around after the sale.

If you are going to miss the hawk the simple solution would be to just keep both!

Thanks, it's good to know it comes across that way. My aim with this bike wasn't to make it perfect, but to make it as reliable as any bike on the road, and I want to make sure a potential buyer knows that. I'm selling it for what I paid for it, and I would have been a lucky man if I bought the bike as I'm selling it today... Oh well, such is life.

Sound logic...unfortunately the wife doesn't see it that way lol

That's not the fuse cover on the 550/650!

That would be true. It's the cheesy handlebar cover...  Hap1

Terrific looking bike. Here's an idea: you can store it at my house and your wife won't know that you still have it. You can come down south during the winter and ride as much as you like.

I like it. What would it look like if the Nighthawk logos were on it, and the wing on the tank? You might have the only orange nighthawk in exsistence! I bet it would look great!
