I recently picked up a 1998 VFR800 Interceptor to add to my stable. I wasn't even looking for this particular bike, but I stumbled upon an excellent deal and did some research. It checked off most of my boxes for features and looked to be another enthusiast bike (one thing I love about my Nighthawk). I took a test ride and I was smitten with the engine character and the sporty but reasonable riding position. I was really hesitant to find a replacement for the Nighthawk because it sets the bar pretty high, but so far I think I made a good choice. By the way, I'm selling old orange if anyone's interested. Apparently, I'm only allowed to own ONE legendary Honda at a time...

Sweet looking scoot...I really enjoyed my turn on JordanA's VFR. Take good care of it and ride safe.

Ooh, an earlier one without the annoying VTEC! Very refined sport-tourer. No idea why the V4 didn't get used more often. Isn't D&D a notoriously loud exhaust?

I've never had a chance to ride one with VTEC, but it sounds gimmicky to me. Plenty of linear thrust without it, and that V4 sound is exhilarating. I know D&D has that reputation, but I don't find this pipe obnoxious at all. You know it's there when you rip on it, but it's barely noticeable when cruising in 6th. Just right for my tastes, and I'm not a huge fan of loud pipes. Funny thing is, in the oversaturated land of Harleys I live in, this pipe is practically silent. Had a guy on a straight piped Vrod I was riding with last weekend comment as I started up my bike "man, that thing's quiet!".

I really like the wheel design on the VFR.
How much did you pick it up for?

Thanks, that's definitely going to be a challenge! I really like the wheel design on the VFR.

I'm also a fan, especially of the black ones. The single sided swing arm makes chain adjustments a piece of cake, too. I snatched it up for $2600.

That is a gorgeous bike. I have always looked at the VFR's as works of art. They are sleek, sexy, have great lines and look like they are going fast sitting still. Plus, the sound of that V4 is unlike any other engine with the right pipe on it. It is yet another bike I plan to add to my stable someday.

Nice find!!! It's a clean VFR.
I have a '99 VFR and love it. Compared to NH750, it is a very fine tuned machine: engine performance, stability, etc. You'd better check speedo at slabs often. Before you know it, it may be cruising at 120mph.
