Hey All got a carb question for the pro's out there i need to replace the valve float on the number 2 carb its not sealing all the way to the seat and letting gas run into the bowl and the into the airbox yes i have a mess question will installing a new valve float fix this problem?  DirtDOG

Have you taken it apart and cleaned it first?

Clean the needle, seat and float hinge. Then think about replacing parts if it's still leaking.

The majority of carburetor related problems are contamination and being dirty, not failure of the hardware.

Many Thanks!! No i did not take the valve float out will try that any ideas on how to clean the round seat as it is up inside the carb bowl would a Q Tip work with some type of cleaner on it?

q-tip + isopropyl alcohol will do nicely.

You have to remove the carburetor from the motorcycle to do this. Don't even bother trying with it mounted.

Don't pull them off the rack unless you're planning on a lot of extra work - bench sync and such.

Well it was not the choke needle valve it was the petcock the rubber inside it had a small hole in it letting gas pour into the carb we fixed and ready to tide again!!! biker_h4h1
