super hppants, you rock. The photos are a big help and exactly what I was hoping to get.

The idea of buying gasket material is worth trying.

And marriedman, thank you for the offer for more photos, too. I think I'm good with what hppants sent. How are you finding the Street Shield EX working out for you on your bike?

BTW-the EBay seller sent me their customer service email address so no complaints right now about their communication. I'm just hoping that the other Street Shield they sold for 1" bars maybe had the clamps intended for me and there's a way between the two buyers to switch. If not then hppants' idea will be a next step.

Again, thanks for your help.

I can't tell you how happy I am with this windshield. The first time I rode my bike with the windshield on, I went straight to the freeway. Up to this point, I did 55mph and felt like I was being pushed off the back of the bike. I am a big guy and catch a lot of wind. After I got into 5th gear and got into a clear spot, I decided I would go ahead and open her up. I looked down and found that I was already doing 75!

After I got home, there were still some adjustments to make; the height and angle of the shield, etc... It took a couple weeks of riding to find the set up that worked best for me. A few months ago, I went about 300 miles with 20-30 mph gusting winds the ENTIRE time. Most of the time, that windshield protected me from the worst of it. There is no protection from sidewind or swirls. I averaged about 65 - 70 mph too.

Now my crotch rocket friends gave me some ribbing for having a windshield, but even if I was mocked by everyone I would still want the windshield. It just makes such a huge difference with the riding experience.

I used one of the tips shared with me in adapting the 1" bar clamps to my NH 750 handlbars. I posted photos on the "Luggage & Add On" page. Hopefully I did this right and this link will take you there:

marriedman, I saw a photo of your bike and windshield on another posting but I wouldn't mind seeing a side shot to get a better sense of the windshield rake you ended up using.

Here's one photo of my bike with the Street Shield EX installed. Again more photos are on the other page.  Again, thanks all for the suggestions.

I found these Chase Harper bags on Ebay for $30 and they arrived today on Xmas Eve.

Only bummer was that it was missing a buckle from the rear of one of the bags.

Plus, I'll need to respray them with the Autozone fabric spray but that will be AFTER Xmas  Hap1

The weather in So CAL is crazy beautiful. Reminds me of a Xmas sometime back when my now 38 year old daughter was in preschool and splashing around in a wading pool on Xmas.

Lots to be thankful for including all the help and tips from the forum members. Here's wishing all of the Forum folks a very Merry Christmas.
