October is a great time to ride in Alabama.  Although it was a little cold at about 45deg. when I left the house. Nothing a leather jacket and gloves couldn't handle. It was sunny and I think the high temp was in the low 70s. I road 75 miles to the meet up point in Pell City.  At the 10:30 departure time 4 bikes headed to the northeast to get to a place that was southwest.  We went through Coal City, Ragland, Ashville, to the top Straight Mountain.
On the mountain we stopped and looked over the valley, took photos. The it was off to the southwest along the ridge of the mountain till we finlay dropped back in the valley at Springville.  Then on to Argo, Margaret, Moody, Leads and the south on Highway 25 to a reopened under new ownership motorcycle club.
For a $1.00 club fee since they are just opening everything was free. Drinks, food, and Music. There was lots of motorcycles here.  The ride on that part of Highway 25 is just about perfect  Tight twisty curves and hills.    Total miles 240.

The four that road. All Hondas. All different types of engines.  On top of Straight Mountain.

The club

A view from one of the high places on highway 25.

Having been disabled with a broken leg for over a year,  things like this make me mad.  He was not a member of the group that I ride with.

I really like that collection of Hondas.  Perfect riding temps too.  Nice view from HWY 25.

The rack was black when I bought it The color and feel match the rest of rear grab bar.  There was one scratch that went to the metal and it was not chrome.  It looks factory to me but I have heard it said that they only made chrome.

Looks like a great time.  240 twisty miles is a full day indeed.

Did you do your red rim stripes yourself?  Nice touch.

Only 140 miles of two lane the other 100 was interstate.

Yes it was easy. More info here.http://nighthawk-forums.com/index.php/topic,11824.0/highlight,tuscaloosa.html
