THEY TRIED TO KILL ME,        More info herehttp://bamarides.com/rideforum/lets-ride/sunday-1030-river-cafe-lunch-and-find-a-nail-ride/

First it is so far out there that I was lost.  I had put Smith's Camp Road into my phone gps but since its so far out there it could not find a SATELLITE.    I found a woman sitting in a truck on the side of the road.   When I told her I was looking for Smiths Camp Road she said  I could go east on Lock 17 Rd    " which we were on"  To the end and turn left.   Or maybe take this small paved road to the north but she wasn't sure.  When I ask her about River Cafe, she tells me she has been there and it was great but she could not remember how to get there because that was one of those nights that she could not remember all that happened.
I decided to head east on Lock 17 Rd.   After about 5 miles I puled over to see if my phone gps had found a satellite.  Now its 12:00 and while I was setting there trying to figure out what the gps was telling me and I can hear a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction  fast..   About 10 minutes later the motorcycle finally comes into view I flag him down figuring maybe he know where Smiths Camp Rd. is.  It was Postmaster and he was lost too.  Now I have road with him twice before and he was on a different bike both times.  Now he is on another different bike.  That makes three so far.
The map on the gps is showing back the way I came but the driving directions want me to go the way Posty came from.   I read the directions to Posty and mention Camp Oliver Rd..  He knows thats back the way he came from so we take off.  There is nobody if front of use so we are making good time till we come to the end of Lock 17 Rd. Here we turned left onto Camp Oliver Rd. and were behind a pickup pulling a trailer with a hunting stand.  Since we are going slow and is all NO PASSING I pull off my gloves to look at the phone gps to see where we are.  I get a glance at the gps and all is good we are on the right track.   Posty finds a chance to pass the truck and he is GONE.  While waiting for a chance to pass the truck I jam my gloves in my jacket pocket and the phone between me and the seat.  Finally passing the truck  I glance at the gps to see three more miles to the turn on to Smiths Camp Rd.  I catch Posty just as he turns off onto Smiths Camp Rd. to wait for me.  We head on down Smiths Camp Rd till we come up behind a slow moving car with a large dog in the front seat.  This dog is wanting to KILL Posty .  I can see it barking as it looks trough the rear window of the car.   I know how Posty rides the bike he is on now so I pay attention and we both pass the car at the same time.  Then is hard on the brakes to turn into the Cafe.
In the River Cafe we meet up with Springer and Yamahamer.  I have never see as many cobwebs on the ceiling and walls as there were here.  I took Springers recomendation and ordered the cheese burger.  They called it a 1/2 pound but I think you could have made three quarter pounders out of it and it was only $4.00.
After eating this huge burger we road to the end of Smiths Camp Rd.  Yamahamer led followed by Posty, me and Springer.  I have NEVER ROAD MY NIGHTHAWK SO HARD.  This road was like a ROLLER COASTER.  If I slowed down Springer could run over me so I had to stay right behind  Posty.   From the end of Smiths Camp Rd. we road to Bankhead  Lock and Dam.  Springer led the las part of this section so I was able to relax a little bit.   At the lock as we watch the towboat lock through I saw that I had a message from my dad.  Since no ones phone worked that far out  I needed to head home to check on him.
While at the lock I tell Yamahamer that I haven't driven that hard in a long time.  He tells me that he was taking it ease because he was sore from trials riding.   I SURE AM GLAD HE WAS TAKING IT EASY!!

The cob webs might have something to do with HALLOWEEN and WHEN ARE WE GOING RIDING AGAIN!!!!!!!

When I moved out east I rode with a friend and his group.  The three of them were all much more skillful riders than I.  I had the same experience as you, I pushed my skills and my bike harder that day than any before.  Sounds like a good day of riding.

Looks like you are racking up some miles on that 700s - good on ya!   thumb

Whenever I am riding with people that are either more aggressive or more skilled than I am, I go directly to the back of the line.  That way I am not holding them up, and I can ride my own ride.
