Ok...hope this works.  Only think I'm not crazy about is the seat.  The previous owner had it re-done in that checker pattern.  I like the traditional sleek looking Nighthawk seat.  Is it a big deal to try and go back to that look?  (By big...I mean cost.)

Check out the cloudy instrument cluster that I hope to spruce up over the winter months.

Nice looking bike! I'd love to have a Canadian 750. Here's a thread that might help you with those gauges.

Congrats, and a nice looking bike. The gauges are not that bad, the polishing-in-steps should clear them up.

As for the seat, it actually looks comfortable. If it feels good, leave it there. You are going to have a tail bag on it anyway.

Looks like your bike is in excellent shape, and if you are good with paint, you can make it look brand new easily. The only issue I spot are the front turn signals....need to adjust them so they are facing straight ahead, not up in the sky.

Nice looking bike, minus the fugly back seat. Whats worse than the checkered pattern is the huge passenger pillon.

Check ebay for a new cover. For the 700 you can find them under $50 I think.

LOL...the seat is a little high in the back.  Passenger will have to duck their head when travelling under an overpass.

So, do you think this seat cover would work?  It says it's for a 700, but wasn't the Canadian 750 the same bike (plus the extra cc's)?

I was going to say that seat looks like a re-covered Corbin, but the back is way too high.  Take the seat off and see if it's stock Honda or Corbin.  The seat release is on the right side where you see the keylock but the grab bar above the shock.

I really like the Corbin seats vs the stock ones, the stock ones look too flat and are know for less comfort than the Corbin.  The problem is the Corbin seat is big $$.  I recovered my stock one before I bought a bike that had the Corbin already on it.  When I recovered mine, I used a hack saw blade to custom trim the driver seat area.  I made it look more corbin like.  Then used $10 worth of vinal and warmed/pulled stapled it into place.  Looked good, was cheap, but then I got the corbin (which has a tear in it, so it's up for recover next)

Nice looking bike, congrats on a great classic!  Might want to keep your eyes open for some case guards, I got a set from my parts bike and they saved my bike when it went down.

I'd start with some soapy water and wet sand at about 1500 grit.  Use light pressure and that should remove that outer layer of oxidized plastic.  Then rubbing compound, then polish.  Don't heat it up with a power polisher by staying too long in one spot.

Here's a pic of my Corbin seat, notice it sits about even with the rear grab bar (second pic shows what one style of crash bars look like):

Had a little trouble finding the crash bars in the 2nd pic of your bike...very discreet.  (Nice lookin' bike!)

I'll check the bottom of the seat tomorrow for some kind of identification.  I'd like to find an original seat for the bike.  I've found a cover on e-bay, but there's no way a correct cover will fit the existing foam.  I'm in the process of figuring out if the seat on a 700SC (the American version of the Canadian 750SC) will fit my bike.  I think it will...but not 100% sure...yet.

The seat will be the same, if that's a corbin you can sell it for $$ just needs a 80's style seat cover and foam instead of the 70's 'Groovy' seat  ImaPoser

The other crash bars are chrome and cross over the front of the engine.  The Nighthawk S was very much a non-chrome kinda bike.  The 86 S blacked out pretty much the whole engine and the rims were all black.  Fits perfectly with the black chrome exhaust.

Love the bike.  I have had luck with wd-40 and some 2000 grit sand paper to get the instrument cluster clear again like new.
