i changed a throttle cabel and got a bike running for a guy about a year ago. 1982 honda 450 nighthawk. it needed alot more work but he was happy that it ran. i only charged him $15 for everything then had to hear my dad sayin i screwed myself for the next month or so. the guy called me a few months later and gave me 2 riding lawn mowers that i quickly got running and sold for $250 each and laughed at my dad saying ''see. he didnt forget about me''. a few months later he calls me again and said he was moving and he asked if i wanted the bike i had worked on. i thought he ment did i want to buy it so i said i didnt have the money. he said "no. do you want it?" i couldnt say yes quick enough. the first pic is how it looked when i got it home. the second is about 6 months later.

That's better than a sharp stick in the eye I like how you turned over those lawnmowers too. I just finished a small engine repair class at our local tech schools. It cost $90 for 10 weekly 3-hour classes. About half the class were returning participants; several had been doing it for years. 3-4 guys would pick up non-running power-equipment off CL, then use the class's extensive shop to repair them. Those guys made a nice side-income selling the repaired units (most of which needed nothing more than a good cleaning and some carb adjustment).

i built the bike from parts i had sitting around form other bikes i had parted out. the exhaust is home made. right pipe is stock with a old harley straight pipe welded to it. the left pipe crossover was done with a few bends from different exhaust that were junk.

i am working on the plans for a custom gastank and 2 into 1 rightside intake. mabe a 60's twisted springer front end and about a 2'' front and rear drop on the bike and a complete repaint.i hate the chrome fenders and bulky seat.i will post pics when i get further along in the build.
