Hello everyone,
I thought i'd take the time to introduce myself and my '85 Nighthawk.  My name is Carl and this is my third motorcycle, i actually learned to ride on my Brother's '84 Nighthawk back in '96.  I found this gem on craigslist with only 16,150 miles and finally came to a price of $1600-.  The bike had been kept it in an A/C garage for most of it's life.  The guy sold it because he was in his mid-50's and he had dropped it on himself breaking his leg when he was moving it.  So he decided he was gonna get a 150cc scooter.  Anyway, i love this bike, it always brings a smile to my face when i ride it and really think it's the perfect motorcycle.  Well, enough talk, enjoy the pics! beer

welcome Great bike you have there, but you already know that. winker
Okay, who thought of putting the windscreen up above the stock fairing?  A little short of gorgeous, but from an ingenuity standpoint I love it.  Seeing as this new shape actually echoes many stock fairings with the air duct, I'm guessing it works very well...assuming it's decently stable up there.

Ditto!  I like the idea.  I tried it with my new cafe fairing but the stalks to mount it are far too short.  Any idea where to source longer ones???

Thanks guys for all the great comments.  The aftermarket windscreen came with the bike so i'll have to look at it closer for the brand, then i'll post it on here with a source on the internet.  I had to let the look grow on me but i like it now and it does help deflect the wind because i took it off for a long ride and noticed a signifigant increase in windage!  It's also very stable suprisingly.  Thanks again everyone! ricky

I'm looking at the big hex section on the stalks and wondering if there is a threaded extender scratcher

Ok, the brand of the wind screen is "National Cycle" and here is the link to the website https://www.cyclepartsusa.com/store/home.php?cat=316
Just scroll down and you'll see 'em.  Now, they don't say that they fit the Nighthawk but it must because it's on my bike. rayof

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've been thinking  scratcher about a windshield and remembered this thread. Carl can you take a pic of how the windshield attaches from the speedo side of the shield? I really like the stock look, but for a long ride that sure would help.

I hope these closer pictures help.  I also added some pics of the '82 CB750K i got off craigslist for the Wife.  Only 12,195 miles on the odometer, just needing some carb work for $700!  I might be jealous! drooler

you know lookin at it im sure if the looks are iffy to you then you could probly shave some off of the natl cycle shield to fit over the stock shield and maybe a little colour on the lower stock shield and blend it a little bit up the natl cycle shield for a little smoother look
