Ok so I know it's not a big Harley, but I've got an 83 Nighthawk 750 and was thinking of putting some saddle bags on it. I'm a college student in Texas, and I ride my bike everywhere and all the time so some additional storage other than my backpack would be nice. Obviously I don't want some huge leather bags with chrome and tassels Lol Or does anyone even do saddle bags on these type of bikes?? I'm still really new at this so ya'll forgive me. I'd love to see pics of saddle bags/other ideas for storage if you've got em. Thanks guys!

Ifly...my 82 cb750sc came with leather saddle bags. First thing I did was take them off. My part time job necessitates that I carry a clip-board, digital camera and a few hand tools. My wife cleaned them up for me and I just slide them out from under the seat when I want the clean look. They tie together with a cord through eyelets and the rear blinkers help hold them in place. 30 secs on and off!

There's no reason you can't use saddlebags on it. Just be wary of the clearance from the pipes. If leather isn't your preference, there's plenty of textile options out there as well. Here's some really good options. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/luggage/saddlebags_/I have the leather version of the Tourmaster Cruiser Slant bags. The nice thing about them is if I want a clean look, the bags zip off. Really, it comes down to personal preference. I will say that the added storage capability is very nice.

Hey thanks a bunch guys!! mikefootusa I love the way those saddle bags look!! I didn't think leather would look good on a nighthawk but yours look awesome!! Did you have to modify the plastic piece that runs under the sides of the seat to the tail light to get them to fit?

The mount tabs were broken on the plastic...I JB welded them...no other alteration.

I have similar tourmaster bags. No complaints here. Nice big heavy duty zippers and thick material.

Those are exactly the bags I was thinking Ari. Mine are the leather version. Like jerjohn, no complaints.

You can always go with a bungee net. Dont cost much and will secure what you need to the back end. Works for me. I have nylon saddlebags that came with my bike I rarely use. Would part from them for cheap.

Could you send me some pictures and maybe what you would like to get for them? I might be interested in taking them off your hands.
