There's a '95 CB1000F available locally for a good price. All I know is they were sold in the USA for only 2 years. It looks to be a big, naked sport tourer...  scratcher

I don't know much about them other than I like them! I just think it would be too much bike for me. The look like a 919/Hornet but with the lower exhaust so saddlebags won't be such a PITA like on the 919. They are like a beefy Nighthawk I would imagine.

Ari is the only guy I know who has one. Saw a Killboy pic of him on a black one I believe. Honestly, I am just posting this to follow the thread!

I know that I want one.  They seem about as rare as snow in Hawaii though.  If I could find one for a decent price I'd definitely snag it.

Snow in Hawaii is very common, year round believe it or not.  Hawaii has some very high mountains.  Snow on the beach in Hawaii, not that would be rare.

Now we return to back to our regularly scheduled program.

They're lots of fun...

Blacklabel also had one for a while, but AFAIK his has been sold. I don't know what you are considering a good price, but if it's in nice shape and hasn't been abused it's a rare enough bike. I paid over KBB for mine, but it was in pristine condition with very low miles and accessories worth more than what I paid. Plus I wanted it...bad.

Now for my personal (and probably unexpected) advice...skip it. That's right I said it. It's not that I don't love my bike, I absolutely do, but...Unless you're like me and have lusted for this particular model for years, or just love obscure Honda's, there are many other more modern options for comparable price that do things better than the CB1000. It is in many ways a much improved Nighthawk, very comfy and reliable, but with upgraded everything. Like the NH, though it does everything well, it's not the "best" at anything. It was never the fastest (though it's quite quick), handled the best, etc. As you mentioned it was only imported 2 years, so parts can be scarce. 1994s were Black and 1995s were Red...if that doesn't jive either the seller is lying or they have been lied to. They had a better run in Europe and Japan, so importing stuff is a possibility, but we all know how fun that is. Another fun thing I'm looking forward to doing an engine swap for a early CBR1000F since the mill is the same and bolts right up, but you get an additional 30ish HP and a 6th gear. One thing to watch out for is the typical cam chain issues, which I've heard can show up as early as 35K, but I've put about 28K on mine since I purchased it and have had zero issues that were the bike's fault (operator wiring error). If you have an opportunity to post a link to an ad or get some pictures of the bike I would be more than happy to give it a look. I would also be willing to answer any questions you have including sharing more personal purchase info about mine so that you can gauge the price of this one. Part of the problem is that these hardly ever come on the market (I had to drive 6 hours to get mine) and those that do are often abused and not worth $1000, so it's hard to set prices. Just shoot me a PM if you want any more specifics.

I was looking at them for a little while. I came across a 94 with only 8k on craigs list less then 1/2 hour from me. It was being loaded on the back of a buyers truck when I called. It sold for $2000 and the buyer was from a local honda dealer. They turned around and sold it for over $4000. I was pissed I missed out on it. Havent seen another one that clean pop up so I expanded my search and ended up with an 03 FZ1.

The CB's are sweet but tough to come by.

Great information Ari, as I was in the market for a Literhawk.

Since reading your post, I'm moving on for the elusive 1985/86 VFR1000.....but those in nice shape seem to near impossible to find for the right price.   Search continues....

Ride Safe...
