Guys just want to say I'm new to the forum and hope to get help and be of assistance for many years to come.  Honda did a fine job creating this machine and I seem to get more attached to it every time I ride.  Tell me if I'm going around the bend, but I love how this bike performs.  It's the perfect bike for me.

I picked up a 1993 750 about four months back.  Slight damage here and there from the previous owner possibly having a spill after consuming a few beverages.  Paint was faded, had sort of bent and dated handlebars but a totally sound drivetrain.  It had been dynojetted, corbin seated, national cycle screened and supertrapped out.  It was a pleasant cruise with that deflector up there but due to my relatively low speed commute, was removed.  Only thing that stayed were the carb jet settings (runs fantastic), supertrapp exhaust (which definitely sounds great) and the Corbin seat.  Slowly but surely I've tried to make the bike look a little less dated and bring some suttle styling and saftey nick-nacks into place.  Pictures will come shortly.

I'm new to riding, but I've always tried to be a great driver I'd say.  Courteous to others and all, but now being out there with my "knees in the breeze" I really see what rediculousness goes on.  I really believe in wearing all of your gear all the time, regardless of temperature.  It's risky business out there but it feels great to be on two wheels, soaking up the outside where I like to spend my time the most.

Well that's a little getting to know me post, but stay tuned and let me know what you think of her.  Thanks and safe riding to all!

Thanks there guys.  I just uploaded some pics from my phone.  I need to get some decent shots of it now, but weather has been a bit inclement for the past few days.  I'm completely satisfied (for the moment, haha) with how this bike turned out.  Tell me if you dig my color scheme or what.  It doesn't seem to be a very common color as I had searched the web to see if I could get an idea.  I basically had an idea and ran with it.

It's come a long way considering I've only had it for a short period of time.  It normally never happens that quickly for me.  A lot of help from close friends here and there.  It seems I have a friend of mine that really appreciates the machine and wants one for himself!  Ha! There is something special about these bikes.

Welcome from another Louisianaian!!  Where are you located?

I don't ride a NH anymore, but I had a couple of them, and now, they just let me hang around.

The paint looks terrific.  I have not seen another 750 that color.

Give me a shout if you would like to get together for a ride.  Cheers.

Hey, Nightster!  Welcome!  I've been a member of the forum for maybe two months and have learned soooo much!  I'm a true rookie as I bought a bike, but still haven't ridden it yet (not until next spring, now).

IMO, when it comes to Nighthawks...you've found the motherlode!    beer

hppants, I'm actually on the outskirts of lafayette/scott/carencro area.  Definitely would be great to get a good ride in at some point.  abigbadzebra, it's actually a pretty comfortable arrangement.  The handlebars are Daytona Bikemaster.  Of course there may be a few of you that like the look of the bar end mirrors, but they're not the best and I'm considering replacing them with larger ones.

I had taken some pictures of the rear lamp assembly for a good reason.  I am a automotive tech at a local dealership and I see quite a few broken mirror assemblies on Yukons and Sierras.  These assemblies contain very useful bright red L.E.D's that would ordinarily be thrown away.  I have saved them over the years, thinking I would have a good use for them.  Finally had a use for them in the NH.  The picture doesn't do the lamps any sort of justice.  They're absolutely blinding even in daylight which is exactly what I wanted the outcome to be.  I also installed one row on each side of the tail light as a sort of side marker which works quite well too.  Not to mention the addition of a 2nd brake light.

Small world - we are literally neighbors.  I'm in the Youngsville/Milton area, but work at UL Lafayette.

Shoot me a PM if you would like to get together, and I'll do the same.  Not this weekend though - I'm heading to a little football game over in NOLA.   super

Wow 93Nightster. That color combo on your NH looks real good. Nice touch with the bar end mirrors, too.

Post some additional photos when you have a chance and share more about what went into the paint job and the mods/tweaks done to your NH.

And of course,  welcome

Its original color, Candy Bourgogne Red, was only made for '91, '92 and '93. I dont think any 750 nighthaws were made in white, however, the 2006 Nighthawk 250 was availible in "light bulb white".

Guys I really appreciate the warm welcoming.  It's seems everyone is pretty close to my state of mind.  Keep it simple, be safe and still have fun in the process.  Lots of pretty bikes out there, thank you.  As far as paint, I had a friend of mine, who is a professional paint and body expert at a local import tuning shop, spray it a late model Nissan Titan color he had laying around.  Cost me my labor in return when he needs it.  A very honest way of going about it, I'd say.  I wish life was always that easy, but where would the thrill of it all go then?  It helps to know these artists, especially when you weren't looking for the "cheap way out".  The bike was one of those stored-in-a-shed-left-to-rot cases found in the boons in southern Baton Rouge.  Supposedly it had been purchased new by a mechanical engineer that had maintained correctly and always used AMSOIL lubricants.  The bike ran very well and has continued to do so.  I have since then removed the carburetors as an assembly and cleaned each one completely.  The bowls had quite a bit of sediment within them. Other than the paint and fairings being neglected, the drivetrain wasn't.  I've attempted to modernize the NH.  Blacking the engine/trans out.  Black glossing the cyl. head cover. Painted the discolored SS exhaust from cyl. head to collector opening.  Little things that clean up the lack of asthetic care given to the otherwise well-maintained NH.  I've been looking into the Dominator-style dual headlight assembly idea, but the pricing is nonsense.  Possibly have to craft my own which may pose as threat to the classic styling of the thing.  I hate to go too far with this bike as I still want it's original roots (soul) to show.  Other riders need to be reminded of the simple beauty it offered.  Just a bare-bones "riders" ride.

Thanks for the positive comments, guys!  Light bulb white!  Ha.  I thought I saw a 250 that looked white, but I believe I thought it was silver.  There you have it.  Not a one-off scheme, but still looks slick and fresh for the old beast.

What do you guys think about that dual headlight idea?  I may be able to craft something from a pair of low beam projectors I removed from a GMC Acadia SUV.  Housings could be made of PVC and could be fitted with HID bulbs.  I believe I could pull it off smartly, but then again, the 599 headlight assembly would be perfect!

I'm torn between the two ideas, but I can easily justify spending $10 on materials to possibly create some nifty flashers! Does anyone want to see this happen?  Is it a waste of time?  There are much larger fish to fry than this, but it is kind of fun.
