Cheers guys! I agree about the blue frame, hence why the frame is now black, and the body work will remain blue! Im re-painting it as it needs it (if you look close up), and it shall be a slightly darker blue than in the first picture...More like the original Candy Flare blue! In the first picture, the frame was grey, as according to the guy I bought it off, the bike was orginally one of the grey ones!

Never seen a grey one. Sounds fishy . But you did it right. Maybe they used grey in EU on some of them? No clue. If it was repainted, I'll bet there are at least some areas on the frame that show the change. (I do like some specific shades of grey for the frame. I'm seriously thinking about stripping the frame and using a darker grey instead of the boring black when I do the rebuild in a few years..decisions, decisions)

I always thought a copper vein powdercoat would look good on my 81 custom that is the 2 tone brown they had.

Thanks for your kind words guys...- I have fell stupidly in love with this bike, and I must say this forum too! - Great people with a great wealth of knowledge! @Bumble bee, I have no idea about the grey ones...When I bought this bike it was missing the right side cover. I was very lucky enough to source another from Ebay, and when that arrived it was in the same shade of grey of the frame! - Grey does look better than the blue frame, but I do think the blue body colour is lovely. And thanks for your info about these nighthawks as well! - You replied to my post in another thread on an 82 CB650SC. I do also have a problem....The last time I moved it, the front brake decided to jam on..Any ideas of how to free it?

I do also have a problem....The last time I moved it, the front brake decided to jam on..Any ideas of how to free it? Does the lever move or is it frozen? It might be time to completely flush the brake fluid and clean everything out. I do it at least once a year and anytime I pull the front wheel though I ride in more extreme environments with no rescue options than most riders do) Unless it's a mechanical failure: Just to get it to roll into the garage or where ever, loosen the bleeder valve and squeeze the lever a little to dump pressure. You have to bleed the brakes at that point however it will move.

I thought that might be the case! - The lever does move, and you can still here the brakelight switch click. The level doesn't feel any different whatsoever. The bike hasn't been ridden properly in about 3/4 years, so Im not too surprised!
Cheers for your advice!!

You'll have to find the actual problem anyway so no time better than the present for a full brake system bleed with new fluid.
Find the cause of it locking up. It's better to find the problem hand rolling it around the yard than at 60mph or in the twisties.

Cheers for your advice ....I was thinking a complete clean and fluid transfusion would be a good idea! You're right...Im glad it locked up rolling around my yard rather than down the road at 60+ or going into a bend!
