I said I would write a quick review of the Bell Revolver when it came in and I do have a couple things to say.
1. They are on sale for $100 from motorcycle superstore. It was discussed over on the vendors page.
2. Great deal for a C note. Half price.
3. The quality appears great. I cannot find a single blemish. The finish is perfect.
4. The main visor is clear........it has an internal tinted shield that works just fine. The internal visor snaps  down and up very easily. I still may order the tinted main visor. The jury is still out on that.
5. I read the reviews and several people commented to order a size larger than you think you need. I did
that and am glad I did.
6. The padding is very firm. I am so used to my old helmet that is now form fitted to my head that I am
hoping that as I wear it, it will soften up.
7. Too cold to ride with it yet but I am interested in the amount of noise. I will report back with that info later.
8. I LOVE hi vis yellow.
9. All in all, so far I have to give it very high marks.

Thanks for the write up. Report back after you've taken it for a ride. How dark is the internal shield? Do you think you'll still need a tinted exterior shield during those bright sunny days?

It looks like the internal shield should be dark enough but I wont know until I can get it out in a bright sunny day.

That's a really nice helmet. I'm going to be buying a new helmet this winter and am leaning towards a Bell.

There are some really good deals on them at motorcycleclosouts.com and motorcycle-superstore.com on closeout.

Rain is just mildly annoying most of the time. Well, mildly until it's coming down like someone dumped the Atlantic Ocean through a sieve on your head.

Don't ride in hail though. Just don't. That crap just hurts.

I forgot to add that this is a modular, flip up. It locks in place very well and seems very strong. My only concern at the moment is the firmness of the padding.

No riding today.  Got in a good one yesterday though.  Good to see you're digging a little into the engine after our last meeting thumb  And just so I don't get too far off topic, that's a good looking helmet.

Nice lid.

Do you wear glasses? If yes, let me know if the padding interferes with your frames, especially any seams in the padding. That was my biggest issue with the Bilt modular helmet.

No I dont wear glasses but I can tell you that it would be difficult to wear specs with this helmet. The padding that comes down the side of your face is very thick and I can only describe it as somewhat stiff or firm. It presses very snugly against my cheeks and temple area.
Also there would probably be interference between the internal flip down visor and your glasses.

Does this have a chin curtain installed?  I had heard that Bell was making them with curtains now.  It should reduce airflow under the chin of the helmet and provide a quieter, warmer ride.

My next helmet will be Hi-viz yellow, neon orange, hot pink, or something similar.   thumb

Tom - is this helmet Snell rated?  Also, can you post a picture of the chin curtain?  I'm not sure what that means.

Really interested in hearing your review of the wind noise after you test it out.

To my recollection, I don't believe there are any modular helmets that are Snell rated. I seem to remember there being a company that tried to make one, and they may have passed. But that helmet was ridiculously expensive. And I can't seem to find that article, so maybe I imagined it.

Pants, it is DOT rated. The chin curtain snaps into the helmet right in front of your mouth and comes down around your throat area. I will get pics of it soon. It really closes it off around your neck.

I think there is just one modular helmet that passed Snell ratings...but it is a very expensive European...don't remember the name.

Besides, after reading some more into it, I now have a different opinion of Snell rated helmets.

I just ordered one of these tonight.  I've been using my trusty HJC FS-10 for almost four years now... time for a hi-viz update!

AFAIK Zeus(Korean?) is the only company that has a Snell rated modular.

AFAIK is an acronym for "as far as I know". From her comment I'm lead to believe Zeus is the name of the company. poke
