Kick me off here, if ya like. but some of you'ens don't have nothin nice to say at all. You're either sexually deprived, or former harley or bmw riders, and think the world should revolve around your ideals... Get over your "cookie cutter" selves and put some freakin miles on that bike!  soap

Fortunately you're far above having nothing nice to say.

Interesting.

Please describe what this active BMW (and Honda & Kawasaki) owner (who's put more miles under his belt than most of the members here could dream of) should feel about your statement?

Ok, MOST of the BMW and Harley owners I've met, turn their noses up at anything that isn't a BMW Or Harley, And everyone else is below their standards.. Good thing all the guys I know around here aren't like that, we like to ride, "brand", "bobbed" or "customized" doesn't mean nuthin.. If you cut it up and still ride, that's good enough for me...

See, that video (while funny) isn't true, I would of drug the a$$ off the back and knocked him out! giggle

Waiting on a couple of quotes now. Let's see where the numbers fall before I commit to anything.

First quote came in at just under $700. Bit higher than I was hoping.

MD - shoot a good walk around video and also include startup with cold bike - want to hear the motor. couple of light rev's will be fine.. no need to redline it.

Still, no reason to attack him. The goal was to convince him of something, not mock him.

Try checking with this place  https://www.forwardair.com/index.htm , I use these guys when I need to ship big stuff, unless things have changed since the last time I used them they only ship from one store location to another so it ends up being way cheaper, you just take the bike to the closest port, they crate it, and send it to a port close to the buyer and then pick it up. I've never shipped a whole bike before but they've been good and super cheap the times I've sent car doors/hoods and motorcycle engines to people.

if anyone want to get a hold of me my number is 203-903-4020. i have it posted on Craigslist now and have a few people call me got a offer but not what i whats looking for.

as far as a video i have one and i can do one of it cold if you like but take my word i have ridden this bike on 30 degrees days and i only choke and hold the starter for 3-5 sec and it starts every time. ill make a youtube video and post it up. just give me a few days.

and im not going to bob my new vfr i do want to switch out the subframe for a cbr1000 and do under-tail exhaust. i mean who wants to ride a stock bike. wheres the story in that. my car is all stock because it my main mode of transportation but my bike is a expression of myself and my abilities. i didint just want a motorcycle to say i have a motorcycle. if i wanted to do that i would have went out and bought a 2011 cbr/gsxr/ninja/883 and been done with it. i want to be different not cookie cutter. that's why i got a nighthawk and now the vfr. i have not yet and probably will never see another one of those on the road and not expecting to come springtime.

i ride because its fun and i enjoy it and my bike is a extension of me. kind of like the clothing you wear you can tell a lot about a person by looking at their bike. ok ill get off  soap now...i could go on but we get the point im making.

and so you know my next motorcycle will be a triumph daytona 675. another bike you dont see a lot of.

Yeah, the question about bobbing the VFR was a low blow. Ignore that.

I guess I just don't get the need to be different so many people speak of. Everything can be categorized, and any attempt to fight that seems futile to me. I want my bike to be as functional as possible while still looking good, and I find that not many modifications to the stock bike are needed. It doesn't represent me so much as it shows what I do with the bike. It fills its own functions, not mine.

When I look at a line of like model bikes, I want to be able to pick mine out of the crowd.

My needs usually cause the bike to stand out. My new-to-me 85 NH is no different. Just got here today and I have already pulled the bodywork, tank, and a few other items and will visit my painter later today.

Option13, but your bike, and possibly yourself if I may use a broad brush, is different than a sports bike, or a Harley or a BMW, to name a few. So why did you choose the bike that you did? Was it because it had everything you wanted? Was it that you wanted to distinguish yourself from the above and/or other categories/models? Was it the price?
