I won't be riding while the roads are nice and wet, so now is the time to do some smaller [but necessary] repairs.

My  bike has no front turn signals. There are simply holes on the steering tree where they should be. So upon researching what I need, I fount plenty of replacement turn signals assemblies. But there is nothing on the bike where I can mount them. Do they need a post or something attached to those holes that I can then clamp the turn signals onto? Fiches at Ron Ayers and Bike Bandit show nothing, which confuses me because the signals have to clamp onto something [I think]. Advice please.

While we're at it, my horn and neutral light aren't working at all. No fuses are blown, so I'm probably going to have to pull out the multimeter and trace where their connections have broken. Any suggestions on where to start will be much appreciated.

The bracket that holds the headlight has a big hole on it at the bottom at the fork. That is where the turn signal hardware mounts.

Do you have a wiring diagram? It's much easier to chase wiring problems with it.

I know the bracket you're talking about, but it looks like there needs to be something that essentially goes between the turn signal and the hole on the steering stem.

It looks like it should go like this:

- Some sort of post attaches to the hole
- Turn signal clamps onto post

With what I see available on my bike and the turn signal that Bike Bandit says will fit my bike (http://www.bikebandit.com/bikemaster-turn-signal?m=1980), there needs to be something attached to both the hole and the turn signal.

Ok, I have discovered the disconnect. At some point in this bike's life, somebody probably broke the front turn signals off, and then broke [ground] the mounting posts off of the front fork covers.

So what I am going to do, instead of hunting down new front fork covers, is us some JB Cold Weld to attach metal tubing to where the posts are supposed to be sticking out.

What I need from you
I would love to know some dimensions of those posts. How long and what diameter should they be in order to slip new turn signals on? This should be an easy one and I will be super appreciative.

I hope this helps.

The turn signal itself is not the issue.

This is an image of fork cover. I've outlined the post that the turn signal slips onto. That post, on both of my front fork covers, has been ground down for some very unknown reason. So instead of hunt down 2 fork covers, I am going to rebuild those posts using some JB Cold Weld and [correctly sized] metal tubing. I just need some dimensions for the tubing I should use so that I don't have any issues when I finally get front turn signals and try to slip them on.
