Hello and thanks to everyone with for their useful posts.

My buddy bought a new red/black Nighthawk S our senior year of high school in 1985. He never let me drive it (I didn't have license), but we rode together many times and I have always wanted one. His was most likely a 1984 model ,I think.

I finally bought a 1985 red/black this past October with 22,515 miles on it in pretty good shape. I got my endorsement and now have 23,296.8 miles on it. I have replaced quite a few things that are still available from Honda parts. I have added engine guards, new windscreen and a luggage rack , all aquired from eBay.

The guy I bought it from rebuilt the front forks. I have added 1986 Nighthawk mirrors as they stick out further to see better. I have upgraded the old tires to the new Dunlop 501 Arrowmax front & rear. It is amazing it runs so smooth after 27 ish years....

I also just bought a 2008 Nighthawk 250 for my wife as she is moving up from a 2011Honda PCX scooter...

Third Picture.
Please feel free to ask me any questions about mounting engine guards/luggage rack/ windscreen, or anything else.
It was not as simple as it seemed to me to do.
I am willing to pass on my experiences as best I can.
Also , any questions on the Nighthawk 25o are welcomed.
Thanks.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

The 250 is a new bike even though its 4 years old. I bought it from an out of state dealer who used it for safety courses. It had 1 scratch on the tail fin where it looked like somebody's boot scuffed it. The odometer reading was 106.8 miles, and it came with a full year warranty.

I was worried about the top speed capability of the 250. The dealer assured me it would do well over 70 with me on it weighing 230 pounds. He said it was geared different than the Rebel. My wife wanted to be able to maintain highway speeds as the PCX will only do about 58 to 60mph. I rode it at 65 mph(was the speed limit on road I was on) and she got it up to 72 without any problems.

The only 2 major things I want to address on the 700 S is the finish on the exhaust pipes and I have a small leak in the front left cover of the valve cover gasket where something apparently bumped it. I guess the only option for the exhaust pipes is to paint them. I have tried to search for better looking or new pipes. I don't want the aftermarket 4 into 1 pipes.

A nice stock exhaust is pretty rare to find!

But you managed to get that luggage rack and engine guards, which are very rare!    thumb
