I've only been asked to remove my helmet in a Liquor Store (never tried walking in a Bank with it on). The bank wouldn't deal with me at the drive thru and made me come in. I have no idea whether they had a legitimate concern about a bike getting rear-ended or some ignorant nincompoopery. There was some story about a person in a motorized wheelchair that tried using a drive-thru and ... was plowed into by a car. At some rally years ago, all the fast food restaurants that were all about 1/4 mile from the hotel refused us drive thru service too. Comments, experiences?

I usually just walk in so I can't speak to the MC aspect of it. Although I can tell you from experience, most places won't serve you if you try to walk through the drive through at midnight after a few .

I've gone threw the drive thru a couple of times, no problems. I remember one teller even
asked if there was anything else she could do for me, imagine that.

Weird.
The only issue I can see is extra time in the drive throughs. I know when I pull through, it take be a bit longer than a car because I have to take my gloves off before I can dig my wallet out. Then it take me more time to stash my order and get my gloves back on before I pull out.

I use the drive thru all the time, usually fast food. Quick access to a saddle bag makes it convenient to throw fast food in. I've even done the To Go service from some of the sit down chains. Never had an issue. But I've also not tried the bank since my banking can be done at the ATM and I'd rather avoid people.

Soup It might not be so weird if you take your gloves off while your in line. Put your wallet in a jacket inside pocket and return it to there. After the transaction pull ahead and put your gloves back on before the next person is done with there transaction. Works for me.

My bank doesn't have a drive-thru. It is a Chinese bank, you go in they have nice chairs where you sit down and the tellers wait on you. I do take my helmet off before I walk in, the guard is extremely friendly and the tellers seem in awe that I ride. I don't think I am their "normal" customer. Biggest problem I have at drive-thrus is that I don't trigger the signal that someone is there so I have to drive to the window and honk. If I get any response at all it has been positive. Either people that ride themselves and want to chat or ones that don't and have questions.

Bank drive through, no problem. Fast food drive through, funny looks but no problem. Tossed the bag in the milk crate. Why would fast food have a problem anyway? They take your money first then give you food same as a car. No pay, no food, less capable of robbing them.
Walk in anywhere? It's no big deal to take the helmet off though I've been known to walk in with it on during rainstorms then take it off just inside the door or awning area. It's always fun to have the "you're going to get wet riding in the rain" conversation. The fun real answer is "no, you'll be wet just getting to your car, I will be totally dry the whole way."

I have never had an issue with drivethroughs. Actually, I have seen some motorists take a LOT longer than I would with gloves.... digging in their purse for a pen, checkbook, deposit ticket, PIN number... The biggest concern I see is all of the oil droppings to watch out for from other vehicles.

The few times I've tried to get fast food on a motorcycle I've been told to come inside, except when I was on a fully bagged KZ750 Spectre, I think the cup holder on the handlebars made them take me more seriously.

When I lived in Vancouver long before my MC days I rode a bicycle everywhere. I used to go through all kinds of drive throughs with no problems. One time I saw some pedestrians get refused, and I was served. It seems like it might be arbitrary, or that there are no universal rules applied to who gets served, other than pedestrians of course,

I've been served at both bank and fast food drive throughs without any problems. Most of the time, the people working get a kick out of it.
