Here's mine.  It's a full face modular by G-max.  It's the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn.

So, do any of these flippy modulars have chinstraps that don't involve D-rings?  I'm really spoiled on the Schuberth and Nolan set-it-and-forget-it latches.

I have a 1/2, 3/4 and a full face. I wear the full face most of the time. As long as the helmet fits good and is DOT standard Ill wear it. I usually buy one every season or two. If I drop it a time or two or a hard drop I will replace it also. My current helmet is a AFX fullface I bought from denniskirk for around 60.00.

I have an HJC FS-10, which I like very much.  It could use a darker sunshade (the flip down mini shade), and the wind noise can be annoying as well.  The addition of my windshield onto the nighthawk helped a lot with the windnoise.

Hey Happy, you can get the clip type adapter for the D ring helmets. Almost all the big bike meets and bike shops have them.

A what?  An adapter?  Cool!  Where, how, huh?  Have they got a technical name?  I haven't ever seen anything like that.  If you happen on a link, lemme know!   thumb

He's probably talking about these:

http://www.echoproducts.com/

I hadn't heard of them until I read this thread either. I will try to find one next time I am at Cabela's or the local bike shops. I have always hated fumbling wit the d rings with a pair of gloves on, and it would also come in handy for Autocross, I am take my helmet on and off a dozen times throughout the day at most events.

I used those until I got my new helmet. They don't release easy, that's for sure. I found it just as difficult to fumble to with getting it clipped and unclipped as I did with gloves. Girlfriend still has one on her helmet, but I never put mine on my Symax.

Okay, that site makes some reaffirming points about meeting safety requirements and having a metal structure.
I'd read an article a while back harshly criticizing some of these that were just cheap plastic as criminally unsafe.
So the unused D-rings just jingle around? scratcher

Looping and undoing D-rings isn't bad, it's the futzing to find the 'just right' length and tucking away the excess that drove me nuts.

Thats simular to what my wife has on hers. Personally I never had a problem with the D rings and actually prefer them. I like to know its gonna stay on my head even if I hit the pavement. Since its about the only protective gear I wear on a constant basis its probably just a mental thing. bugey

I picked up a Scorpioin EXO 400 solid silver color (sorry no pics, camera broken right now). So far I have loved it. The fit is great and it is comfortable and quiet so far. The d rings on this one aren't that bad because it has a button to secure the slack.

Looping and undoing D-rings isn't bad, it's the futzing to find the 'just right' length and tucking away the excess that drove me nuts.

Put the working end through the 1st ring then the free end through the other loop loosely. Pull it tight, put your thumb on the webbing against the ring then pull the other end tight. Done.

Releasing them? Take a look at the D-ring on the Shoei helmets. There's a little piece of webbing on one of the rings. Tug that little cord and it's released. It shouldn't be hard to add that to helmets that doesn't have one.

A little piece of velcro on the end of the strap secures it away. Shoei actually has a little plastic clip that snaps into the D-ring.

Just don't forget to secure the strap at all. It's easy to be futzing with all the crash gear in cold or bad weather, ride 100 feet, stop, gloves off, chin strap secure...  shog

I've got an HJC CL-MAX modular helmet in white.

It is one of the few XXXL helmets out there.
