Thanks guys! I know it's not a multi-day ride report nor were the pics planned in any way, I just randomly pulled over snapped the pics and rode off. While they came out nice they just don't do justice to the full panoramic views from the bike.
Fishmeister, I think the barbed wires are to keep the larger wild-life off the street and to keep the even larger wildlife (squids) in check

. There are some sections where there's a sharp drop-off without guard rails etc. I get butterflies in my stomach when I ride past that section watching the drop off 3 feet to my right. The gravel is soo slippery, I never knew! I had to be very careful getting off the road into the gravel turn-outs, I couldn't slow down too much or some cager behind me could take me out and I couldn't go in too fast or the bike wouldn't stop and I'd become a permanent scarecrow on those barb-wires. Pulling out was tricky too. Luckily there's about a foot or so of pavement between the white line and the gravel and the traffic's usually light.
Tim, it sure is a nice area to ride and that's why it's famous with the bikers and sports cars. There's a bar/restaurant at the entrance called Cook's Corner...it's THE hang out for the bikers. It's got good amounts of twists and turns and the speed limit's usually 55mph...or supposed to be

Buzz, I'm still getting over the nervousness. It's weird that I get nervous thinking and talking about it but once I'm on the bike I'm alert but fine.
Lindy, thanks! I hope you're recovering well! when I get nervous about riding I often think about your incident. You're an experienced and careful rider but it still happened to you.
Shaun, welcome back! how was Thailand? Where did ya go, Phucket? I did add a few things to the bike; the GPS mount, windshield, new tires, seat cushion and tailbag. I'm quite happy with everything I've added so far as it enchanced the bike over what it was. There might be better products out there but since I don't have experience with anything comparable I can't really offer a comparison.
