Waiting for the wet season to end

I finished with some yard work and other honey do list items and decided to take a short ride. I only did about 40 miles round trip, but it's nice to just get out when I can.
Down here in Flatistan (aka Florida) there are not a whole lot of nice curvy country roads, especially in my section of the state.

Here's a fine example of FL's idea of a back country road...notice the lack of curves?

And again with all the curves.

Oh look! A curve  Hap1

The road pictured is a nice back road that goes through basically nothing and is about 10 miles long. We take what we can get around here. There is a small park back here that is usually pretty nice to hike and picnic at and has a small causeway to a small beach area that is awesome, unfortunately that causeway is closed until fall of this year for repairs and I couldn't get to it. So I parked at one of the pavilions and hung out for a minute for a smoke.

Here's the 450 relaxing while I take a short break at the pavilion

And here's an example of the local wildlife. Just chillin on the footpath.  eek7

Sky's looking a little ominous. Time to head back as I don't yet have experience riding in the rain.

It was a short little ride like I said, and not much to see, but I wanted to try taking some pics of the bike while I was out riding. Let me know what you all think.

New Jersey has curves, hills, traffic, potholes...
So is that an alligator?

Yea, that's an alligator, I could not zoom in very well as my camera at the moment is my cell phone. BTW, what happen when I posted the pics that you had to re post them so they could be seen? I want to make sure that I don't mess it up again next time.

Florida has a severe lack of hills, a lot of traffic (blue hairs in crown vics mostly), and a fair share of potholes. I am determined to find a nice long secondary road somewhere in this state that would make for a nice weekend ride. Most of the ways to get around are superslab and six lane highways umph

Image shack gives you too many options, and I guess you chose the wrong one.
I think you want the Code tab and a Forum code.

Thanks Happy. I'll try that one in the future. I picked the Hotlink for Forums tab and copied and pasted using the [img][img/] method.

1986cb450sc...I think we do have the same bike beer Mine is an '86. I'll have to check my sig and make sure I didn't flub it up, if so I'll make sure to change it right away. I have about 10300 on mine...bought it with 10100 in January. Oh, and BTW...total deja vu, our bikes do look exactly the same. I did buy a windscreen from JordanA on the forum and should have it installed by the middle of this week. I'll post pics as soon as I get that on.

Oops, I did flub that up. I do have an '86  shog It's fixed now. Thanks for pointing that out.

p.s. - the only difference I can see from the pics is that you have one of the California models with the emission control canister on the right side.

I want to hear good reviews of that windscreen when you get her put on and take a ride!  It's a night and day difference, really.

Ya the california emission stuff is a PITA, i rebuilt my carbs last season, and just to get the parts specific with the cali model of this bike took 6 weeks.
I have about 13.5K on it now, bought it in July 07 with 11,400. I know i havent ridden much, but when i was at school i didnt get much seat time. This season, since i have graduated, i plan on riding it a TON. Anyway enjoy the 450.

I sure plan on it. I wan't to get a lot more miles under me before the dreaded rainy Florida rainy season (aka summer) gets here. BTW, I see you have a civic as well, now I'm getting deja vu as I own an '03 civic

JordanA, got the windscreen yesterday. Tonight will be my first day home since Sunday morning. Hope to get it on tonight or tomorrow. Pics and review to come...
