In Asia, the Honda CB750 looks very similar to the Nighthawk 750 except that it's got an angular gas tank and the top part of the rear shocks is exposed.  Likewise, is the Super4 (CB400) a regional version of a Nighthawk?

 welcome swim
The CB model series goes back at least to 1969, and the Nighthawk name started showing up on CB models in the early 1980's.  My bike has "Nighthawk" spelled right out on the sidecovers, and I think every US model Nighthawk was blatantly labeled like this.

I think the modern Euro CB750 has "SevenFifty" on the side covers, so I see how the question arises.  At the very least they share a bloodline.  The 599 and 919 had liquid-cooled CBR engines, so they were mere spiritual heirs.

Hard to label something until it stops changing.  In America, that's easy as the model is no longer sold.

My 1991 CB 750 is from Japan allegedly...   On the side is printed "ProductOne"

I live in Hong Kong which is why I have the Japanese import.
