Here's a crappy picture of my KLR.  My first bike was a CB 350, it was old even way back then, so I guess I kinda fit in here.

I've got a Nighthawk 750 that thinks its a KLR.  Does that count?

Dont tell it that its not though because you might hurt it feelings!   Hap1

I want a KLR! The '08 cuz it's cool! A red one cuz they're fastest!
Seriously, the KLR deserves its cult following. My husband is determined to sell his Harley and get a KLR. I just can't stand on the thing.

Mostly in the KLR Forum.  Here's a couple of mine.  A 2009 in Mass. and a 2004 at my Florida home.  Both geared and outfitted for street.  I have an XT225 for the dirt.

I am looking at a klr250 tomorrow. It might be too tall and too heavy for my kid though.

Used to have an 09 KLR, but had to get rid of it due to financial reasons. Really bad move on my part. Couldn't stand being away from riding, so got the nighthawk. One day hope to get another KLR though.

I've seen a few deals for late model KLRs that seem really good.   Like this one at the local BMW shop.

Why are these so cheap?

It's not expensive because the engine was designed and developed in the mid 80's and the bikes (except for '08 and later) stayed the same so the cost of development is long since paid.
It's a single-cylinder thumper with many cut-rate components. Just like many of the Nighthawks, but that doesn't make us like them any less.

If it had more cylinders or more gee-gaws, it would just be heavier, more complex and harder to own. And more expensive.

Hubby loves his because it fits him and it goes places most street bikes can't go.
He embraces its speed limitations and the fact that he has to go behind it every thousand miles or so and tighten things up. To him, it's worth it that he can also fix it on the roadside himself, easily.

I like it very much myself, height and all. It's fun! And comfy for long-distance, too. I just don't have the desire to go off-road, though, and I like the speed of my in-line four cylinder NH better.

I agree with Mr. BeerGoggled, get a DR.   ImaPoser  Just kidding, I love my DR but from everything I've read and heard, the KLR is pretty awesome as well.

Nice looking bikes EMS. Especially like the color of that 650. I had a klx 250s at one time, but decided it was too small for my tastes and traded for a klr 650.

Anybody have any experience with the Honda NX650? I stumbled upon it during some web surfing and am wondering how it compares with the kawi and suzuki?

It was actually my first motorcycle, i bought it in april of 06. Its kinda small, but i have rejetted it and it has a full big gun exhaust on it and tons of other things. It runs pretty good, i can keep up with my buddys on thier KTMs and Husabergs.

I love my KLR650. I feel like I cheated on her by bringing the NH in to the garage. She's the only bike I have ridden that doesn't make me feel like an elephant.

Photo taken near Fredericksburg, TX in June 2010 on a dual-sport ride through the Hill Country.

I went to east TN with my dad over Halloween weekend and we rode the Dragon. My dad is following behind on his VTX1300.
